It's raining in Columbia, SC, and most of the Southeast, as I write. For a while, I've been trying to come up with some kind of plan for "Social Networking," and how to make it work in creating and doing actual business. To be honest, its REALLY easy for me to sit down at the computer, open up facebook, for example, and two hours later realize that all I've accomplished is to spend valuable time chatting with an old high school buddy or to watch YouTube videos. Just scrolled back through my 'tweets' on twitter and picked out a few that I liked. I guess that I should tell you that I've been on twitter for a few months and enjoy it. Like anything you have to participate in it to begin to see the value. Without dropping any names, suffice it to say I've made some great friends via twitter that I wouldn't have met so soon by being an ActiveRainer only. Here's a fast link with some interesting SOCIAL MEDIA STATISTICS that show what a phenomenon social networking is. I've been playing with this for a while, I guess you could call it, because I'm not nearly at the level of a lot of ActiveRainers as far as the intricacies of the whole social networking world. Saying goodbye to an old friend (that I met over the weekend). Just the facts, mam. He had the same name as me, was from another country far far away. (I thought it would be cool to make a buddy with the same name.) He was a great guy. (Chap, bloke, buddy, whatever they call it where he is.) We were dear friends and got along swimmingly.
