blog: Blog Blog and Now Re-Blog - 08/09/08 05:33 AM

My first reblog is on my blog Outside Blog Question: Can I do this?
I was reblogging about a topic about Outside Blogs that Loreena Yeo blogged about and posted to the "My other blog is ..." group kinda sorta.
It is not on my Outside blog but it published there first.  I went in and changed the channels because I was not talking to consumers and for me and my Outside blog that is where we want to go on that blog, local.
If between new skins on blogs, Outside blogs, our Localism blog and our presence on Localism  … (21 comments)

blog: Do Mortgage Brokers have BO? Can ActiveRain help? - 08/29/07 11:50 AM
The line in a Google Alert triggered by my "Active Rain" search on Google has given me a link to this forum entry a couple of times:
ACTIVE RAIN NETWORK (by: jpark31)Just stumbled upon this today. Seems like a solid networking opportunity for brokers and agents. Has anyone been successful with this site? It doesnt rival the BO by any means, however seems like a positive outlet to network with local ...Mortgage Broker Forums at Broker Outpost - http://forum.brokeroutpost.com
The sentence "It doesnt rival the BO by any means" makes me laugh.
A few months back I got in big trouble for … (22 comments)

blog: "Columbus?" - 06/27/07 02:22 PM

"Columbus?" is the headline of a blog post from a Pittsburgh blogger.
What does Columbus Ohio have in common with  New York, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, Rome, Madrid, Toronto, Houston, Washington, Atlanta, Paris, Seattle, San Diego, Austin Texas, Minneapolis, Denver, San Francisco, Portland Oregon, Dallas, Singapore, St. Louis, Jakarta, Brooklyn NY, Philadelphia, Mexico City, Montreal, Beijing, Moscow, Mumbai.
"Blog Belt status" according to the story he quotes in Business Week.
Reaction by Pittsburgh blogger Mike Madison of Pittsblog:
 "Columbus?"
The lists are the usual large metro areas and wired and wireless meccas. And Columbus, Ohio, which comes in at number 30."

blog: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org - 05/15/07 05:11 AM
This blog is not going to be titled "Everything you always wanted to know about WordPress Blogs but were afraid to ask"  because I first want to distinguish between  WordPress.com and WordPress.org
Previously in this series:
Everything you always wanted to know about TypePad Blogs...
Everything you always wanted to know about Blogger.com blogs...
Did you know there is a difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com?  I blogged on my BlogPress.org for a number of months before I realized there is a difference.  Or maybe I knew there was a difference between the two when I decided on a Blogpress.org blog.
"To get started with WordPress, set it up on a web … (8 comments)

blog: Everything you always wanted to know about Blogger.com blogs but were afraid to ask... - 05/13/07 01:42 PM
OK I stole this title from  "Everything you always wanted to know about TypePad.com blogs but were afraid to ask..."  I wrote that title too so I can borrow it.  I found a Typepad expert on ActiveRain so the  "Everything you always wanted to know about TypePad.com blogs but were afraid to ask..." entry is probably a little more helpful than this one.
Maybe Mr. Blogger.com or Ms. Blogger.com will step forward and help out about the features and benefits of blogging on Blogger.com
Or maybe Blogger.com blogs are so easy to use you don't need the numerous 'How To's' that TypePad Guru Cheryl Johnson has written for those … (0 comments)

blog: Looking for Mr. WordPress - 04/28/07 03:10 AM
I got an email from an Active Rainer tonight:
"Is there a way to make my WordPress editor WYSIWYG? I have to do it all through code and HTML right now - and I heard that there may be a plug in for it.If there is, where would I find it? And then - what IS a plug in and how would I "plug" it in?Thank you!!"
To me a plug in, plugin or plugin is something you buy at the grocery store to make a stinky house smell like a stinky house with a scent....

blog: His "other blog" is Phoenix Real Estate Guy - 12/14/06 10:39 AM
If you have not placed your bets... it is almost too late... ? AM MST, 11:00 AM CST, Noon EST... early for those PST folks.   Today!  It is a blogging event.
Jay Thompson has an entry on his other blog about why he is attempting this feat  too.
It is to? Boost him over Tony Marriot in points?  Help me with that? Jay can get points for 10 comments, in a day... I guess depending on the time frame the server is on he could get points for 20 comments? Time on Active Rain is CST?
Jay will get a boost on the right side of the dashboard...   surely this entry is … (5 comments)

blog: My other blog is.... - 11/28/06 12:25 PM

Many of us had a blog (or two) before Active Rain.... What is happening on your other blog? What unique features does your blogging platform have? What more do you want out of your "other" blog? Newbies welcome too, want a second blog?  A third?
My other blog is....a RealTown Blog.   Some of my blogging friends have blogs on TypePad blogs, some have WordPress Blogs.
Gena Riede recently started a beautiful new blog on Tomato Blogs.
The Minnesota twins... I mean Bonnie Erickson and Teresa Boardman have TypePad Blogs.  So does Christine Forgione.
Maureen Francis had a Blogger blog but recently started a WordPress Blog like a lot … (32 comments)

blog: Real Living is so web 2.0 - 11/04/06 07:24 AM
Real Living has a blog.  The blog has an entry yesterday that Real Living has an entry in Wikipedia...Wikipedia is so web 2.0   Wikipedia's Real Living encyclopedia entry
Of course Coldwell Banker has an encyclopedia entry in Wikipedia but local Coldwell Banker King Thompson doesn't have a Wikipedia encyclopedia entry yet.  Re/Max Intl has a Wikipedia entry, I don't even want to try to look up all the Central Ohio Re/Max offices.  Century 21 has an encyclopedia article on Wikipedia.  ERA has one too.
Keller Williams has an encyclopedia entry in Wikipedia! No that's the musician.  Actually by searching Keller Williams Realty on Wikipedia I was able … (14 comments)
