film: Columbus "Visitor" - 03/22/09 02:01 PM

"Visitor" is a song written and performed by a local band, The Receiver. The music video was made by Vital Film Works whose description on YouTube says they are a "a Columbus based company focused on film, commercial and television production." The music video of Visitor was made for the Ohio Film Music Video Challenge.
One of the criteria of the competition was that the video be shot locally... in Ohio. It was fun in some of the Ohio music videos to pick out the locations.

Well maybe not so much celebrities as professionals in the film and music industries. A panel of judges that includes actor / director Chad Lowe is judging the 10 music video finalists in the DiscoverOhioFilm Challenge...
The YouTube site for the Ohio Film Music Video Challenge now links to the ten finalists only.

Three music videos from Cincinnati...
Four music videos from Columbus...
I thought Twinsburg was a Cleveland suburb... Wikipedia says it is in Summit County and is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical … (4 comments)

The music video set in Columbus is called "Green in the Morning."
I spotted....
The statehouse reflected in a glass building across the street.
The carousel at the Columbus Zoo.
The Wonder Bread sign in Victorian Village (sadly in the news this week.)
A view of downtown from the north showing the train trestle. Does that train trestle have a name?
All locations and more are shown in this music video done for a competition.
What other Columbus locations can you pick out in this music video?

Vote for the best music video - YouTube Vote for your favorite Ohio music video by March 18, 2009.
The 23 videos that were submitted are displayed on YouTube. The rules for the challenge for the Ohio film makers included.
"Each video must include one of the following criteria:
A location identified by an Ohio historical marker A sign that displays the word Ohio in a positive manner Apparel containing team logos that are Ohio based (Cleveland CAVS, Cincinnati Bengals, Columbus Crew, etc.) Items featuring college and university logos. (Akron University, Bowling Green State University, Marietta College, Wright State University, Youngstown … (2 comments)
