It's here, Happy Halloween. It's October 31, 2012 so it's Halloween and Beggars Night and Trick-or-Treat all rolled into one. Trick-or-Treat is tonight, 6 to 8 in most central Ohio communities.
Some years some central Ohio communities 'Trick-or-Treat' on a night other than Halloween. The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission makes a recommendation about what night central Ohio communities should Trick-or-Treat. The MORPC recommendations are way in advance, years in advance. I could tell you about Trick-or-Treat 2013 but I won't.
All that matters now is, tonight's the night, Happy Halloween 2012

I saw a tweet about Trick-or-Treat from MORPC* this morning. I thought the tweet was about whether any local communities had said they were canceling Trick-or-Treat 2012, yet. Tuesday morning it is way too early to tell what Wednesday evening weather is going to be like... isn't it?
Columbus Trick-or-Treat it's all relative
Columbus as in central Ohio, Columbus and it's suburbs including but not limited to.... Columbus, Dublin, Gahanna, Garndview Heights, Hilliard, New Albany, Upper Arlington, Westerville and Worthington. Franklin County...

Columbus, Ohio Trick-or-Treat is October 31, 2012! ... and Dublin, Gahanna, Grandview Heights, Hilliard, Lewis Center, New Albany, Powell, Upper Arlington, Westerville, Worthington and more are "Trick-or-Treating" on October 31, 2012.
Back in February 2009 the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) decreed the future of Trick-or-Treat throughout central Ohio. All central Ohio communities do NOT always 'Trick-or-Treat" on Halloween. When Halloween falls on a weekend night the MORPC recommended "Trick -or-Treat" or "Beggar's Night" might be the night before Halloween or a couple of nights before Halloween.
NBC4i.com 2012 Trick-or-Treat list seems to bear that out.

Delaware County communities are mostly trick-or-treating on Halloween this year!
The 2011 Central Ohio Trick-or-Treat Schedule on the NBC4i.com site (Channel 4 TV) says
Delaware, Dublin, Genoa Township, Lewis Center, Liberty Township, Orange Township, Powell, Sunbury are all trick-or-treating on Halloween, October 31, 2011.
The one stand out I see? Galena, Ohio trick-or-treats on Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Look at the NBC4i.com site for times. I worry about transposing a time and some tyke missing trick-or-treat and bearing a grudge for all time. Better against Channel 4 TV than me. Safest bet look at the website for your community. You … (2 comments)

Hardly! The Worthington house look spooky though doesn't it?
A mansard roof says "spooky" to me. At least this time of year. This house and the Worthington Inn?
A website about haunted places, Shadowlands, site has a number of Ohio Haunted place but nothing in Worthington. The Shadowlands.com 'Ohio Haunted Places ' site warns against visiting the sites they have listed. Not because of the ghosts but because they are secured, private, or patroled. Or private property. They are safer to visit online.
This Dublin Granville home is private property.

Worthington is one of two Franklin County communities that did NOT Trick-or-Treat Thursday. Worthington and Grandview Heights and some Southern Delaware County communities are having Trick-or-Treat on Sunday, Halloween. Zillow did an index of the BEST neighborhoods to Trick-or-Treat for some US cities, Atlanta, San Diego, Los Angeles. Zillow did not do Columbus, in Central Ohio, but if Zillow did I would think some Worthington neighborhoods would rank high for Best Neighborhoods for "Trick-or-Treat" in the Columbus area. What are the BEST Worthington neighborhoods for Trick-or-Treat?

When a remake of the 2006 movie 'When a Stranger Calls' or every other formulaic scary story about a phone call from a creep is updated to include Foursquare.... You know the movie where the girl is all alone and helpless. Babysitting or house sitting and the creep calls... when the modern movie 'When a Stranger Calls - Foursquare is sooo scary' is released I want some of the royalties... send ME the money for the idea.

The Worthington Inn, now there is a roofline that says spooky tale to me.

Was the Packard Annex haunted? Were there haunted houses there in the 1990s? I think I volunteered to work at one once to work at one once but did not for some reason. Maybe I got sick.... or chickened out?

The Shadowlands Ohio list of haunted places has lots of haunted places in Central Ohio on the list but nothing in Worthington?

The Shadowlands site says the Nationwide Arena is haunted, built on the Ohio State Pen site.

Worthington ghosts.... Worthington had a medical college!
This is true Worthington history, not a ghost story. A plaque on the front of the Kilbourne Building says "Near this site was establish in December 1830 as a part of Worthington College the first Eclectic Medical College in the Middle West. This tablet commemorates the faculty and students of this college who by reason of their endeavors were able to alleviate in some measure the suffering of humanity."
The plaque on the Kilbourne Building was dedicated in June 1953. The memorial plaque was from the National Eclectic Medical Association.

Did Worthington's ghost Irwin run a Fine Lines stationary store out of town?
I just noticed the Fine Lines store at 657 High St. in Worthington is gone. The sign in the window tells you they've moved to Uptown Westerville and joined forces with another similar store. Recession? Perhaps it was Irwin. Do you know the story of the haunting of the stationery store?
The story goes the building on High Street just north of the Worthington Inn was built in 1890 as a general store.
