Visit the Worthington Food Pantry Booth for free seeds. Worthington.org says of the event: "Come out, enjoy the beautiful weather, and visit our annual Green on the Green Festival! 70+ vendors will be set up on Worthington’s Village Green – right next to Worthington’s fabulous Farmers Market. There’s a lot to do!" The City of Worthington's page has details about what there will be to do at Green

old worthington: Happy 10th Anniversary to Fritzy Jacobs - 05/17/12 02:58 AM
Happy 10th Anniversary to Fritzy Jacobs, in Old Worthington: The Fritzy Jacobs website describes the store as a "lifestyle boutique in the heart of Olde Worthington." Fritzy Jacobs has a lot of cute stuff. Fritzy Jacobs, the store at 635 High Street at the corner of High Street and New England had an anniversary party Wednesday evening to celebrate ten years of life and business on High Street in Worthington. The Real Living HER video about Worthington features the owner of Fritzy Jacobs. I don't even know when Real Living HER shot that video. 2004? 2005?

old worthington: Discover Worthington's Hidden Gems! - 05/01/12 06:30 AM
Discover Worthington Ohio's historical gems! May is National Preservation Month. A month to "Discover" hidden gems according to one preservation site. The "gems" are historical gems... the nice thing about Worthington is the historical gems are not well hidden. Worthington is full of preserved history. Worthington is a New England village that was transplanted to the midwest. A community planned in New England and founded in 1803. Even if you are not in Old Worthington or Worthington, and just in Central Ohio there is history in your own backyard, on the north side of Franklin County in the City of Worthington.

old worthington: Old Worthington Ghosts: Who you gonna call? - 02/19/12 04:36 PM
...Old Worthington ghosts? Who you gonna call? Actually I did not call. I received a call. A "paranormal investigator" called me last night about the building that was Fine Lines (a stationery store) on High Street in Old Worthington. Why me? Because I shared the "story" in 2009 and 2010 about a ghost rapping on the alley door of the store at 657 High St. Worthington, Ohio. The video was made by the Worthington Library.... 2009 Worthington Ghost Story: The tale of Rap! Rap! Rap! 2010 Did Worthington's ghost "Irwin" run a business out of town? The

old worthington: Worthington: Have you seen the ghost of Tom? - 10/25/11 11:41 AM
Worthington: Have you seen the ghost of Tom? Have you seen the ghost of Tom? Long white bones and the rest is gone? There are lots of versions of the song on YouTube. Did you learn the song as John? Or Tom? I think I learned the song as "Tom." I am going with the ghost of Tom because Worthington is named after Thomas Worthington. Thomas Worthington was the Governor of Ohio when settlers from New England founded Worthington. I believe Thomas Worthington never visited Worthington... Thomas Worthington was in Chillicothe, the state capital and a more settled and

old worthington: Worthington Lantern Tour - 10/21/11 10:23 PM
I stopped by the office this evening... and went out the front door and stepped back in time. You can not see the lantern, it was on the ground in the doorway, it is behind her skirt in this photo. The couple is dressed up for the Civil War era. I believe the Worthington Lantern Tour was a Worthington Historical Society event.

old worthington: Old Worthington: The ghost of Christmas Past - 08/09/11 06:22 AM
A "Christmas tree" in the oldest commercial building in the state of Ohio. The ghost of Christmas Past. Or perhaps the distinction is that the Old Worthington building is the oldest commercial building in Ohio in continual use... something like that. An artificial Christmas tree in the abandoned upstairs of this Old Worthington commercial building is all alone. Real Living HER (formerly known as Real Living HER ) is moving into the building at 681 High Street in about a week. I got an opportunity to see the building on Sunday. You would think I'd be sharing a photo of

old worthington: Old Worthington Businesses - 06/06/11 08:51 AM
Old Worthington Businesses in the 1940's? The photo is compliments of Dok1 on Flickr, Don O'Brien. Don O'Brien grew up in the Worthington area and photographed the streets of Worthington, primarily in the 1930s and 1940s. The businesses are car dealerships and a gas station? Looks like there was a car wash... maybe "service station." Don O'Brien wrote about the photo on Flickr: "The view is of the east side of High Street (US23) just north of New England. Clark Chevrolet is at the left and Worthington Motor Sales in the center." He identifies the photo as 1949 and

old worthington: HER Office Old Worthington - 05/23/11 07:45 AM
HER serving Worthington since 1969 - soon in Old Worthington The first HER Realtors office in Worthington was on High St. south of Old Worthington. The first HER Realtors office in Worthington was long before my time but the HER office was an old cape cod style house that became a commercial building somewhere along the line. There was a hot tub business in the building that had been the first HER Worthington office in the early to mid 1990s. I am not sure I know which building it was anymore. The Worthington HER office moved into the newly built building

old worthington: A Moving Experience - Real Living HER Worthington - 05/04/11 08:10 AM
The Real Living HER Worthington office is moving to Old Worthington. A comment on my photo on Flickr from Don O'Brien tell's what the Old Worthington building's were when he was a child roaming the streets of Worthington with a camera. "I think the store on the right was once Sargent's, a variety store. The white building was Corbins Funeral Home. Sam and his wife, Cornelia?, lived on the second floor. The next building on the left was Birnie's Drug Store." Corbin Funeral Home? Of course, Rutherford Corbin is one of two funeral homes in Worthington in 2011. The
