Ohio State Football Schedulle 2011
Columbus takes Ohio State Buckeye Football very serious.  I am not a big sports fan and I am not a Buckeye.  I am a University of Wisconsin graduate - Facebook Football Fans and the Finger  but a sudden surge in traffic on  2009 Ohio State Football Schedule post on my Worthington Ohio real estate  site made me realize "It's time or Ohio State Football" for most people … (2 comments)

osu: Columbus Ohio - Scarlet and Gray real estate true colors... - 09/19/10 04:24 AM
This is a Re-Blog of a post written by Richard Weisser.  Richard's title of the original post was:
"Religion, politics and sports! We all have opinions, but what is their place in business?"
Tim Fennell a real estate agent in Duval Florida responded:
"I'm a bit confused.... are you suggesting there is a difference between college football and religion? ;-)   "
Richard is talking to people in the real estate industry about showing our true colors... politics, religion or team affiliation.  On the original post Missy Caulk a Michigan real estate agent commented:
"Gee, I live in Ann Arbor...huge college town. … (5 comments)

osu: Facebook, football fans and the finger - 08/27/09 12:34 AM
I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.  Bucky Badger proudly represents UW.
David Childress  r.e. agent from Akron Ohio, a big OSU Buckeye fan waved at me on Facebook the other day... and I started to WAVE back but then thought... I am not a nut...  (Buckeye) I am a Badger!
So I looked for a Wisconsin "wave wall."
I recognized Bucky but did not notice the writing on the wall.   The wave wall is named for a long used Wisconsin... shall we call it a cheer?? " ____ 'em Bucky"    I suppose maybe the phrase is … (4 comments)

Columbus is a football town.... or football city, really.
I was talking to a friend who manages a "restaurant" in the campus area who is counting down the days to the first football game at Ohio State.
Saturday, September 5th, 2009  Navy is in Columbus to play the Ohio State Buckeyes....
The USC game is the following week.  The Columbus Dispatch had a front page article Saturday that tickets for that game are going for as high as $4800?

osu: Columbus "Where The Guys Are" - 07/22/09 09:35 PM
In an article in Marie Claire Columbus  ranks nationally as a good place to find a man.
Sex & Love Advice.... Where The Guys Are  is about where the best cities for the best single guys...
Marie Claire says they used US Census Data to determine the best cities to find guys... then factored other things in... like bar time.  Looking to meet a guy? Look in Central Ohio.
Columbus which ranked 18th in the country is described by Marie Claire: "Where corn-fed frat boys go to spawn. With biceps as firm as their Midwestern values, these gosh-darn-it good guys spend … (2 comments)

A financial carrot.
"A little-noticed provision tucked into the $50.5 billion, two-year state budget signed last week by Gov. Ted Strickland will reward college graduates who choose to stay in Ohio by offering them help buying their first homes."
from an article on Toledoblade.com by  Jim Provance called "College grads offered help with 1st house" well I guess it is also subtitled "Recipients must stay in state 5 years " Five years is nothing. That will be over before you know it...

Columbus Ohio is one big college town...
The benefits of being a college town?
They are varied, football, arts, football, smarts, football... why can't I think of the benefits of living in a college town when I need them?
On a more superficial level... depending on your interests and gender there are...
Pretty coeds...
Gorgeous hunks...

osu: If Spiderman relocated to Columbus - 10/22/07 11:48 AM
Would Spiderman ever relocate to Columbus? Probably not but if Goran Utvic can speculate about Spidey moving to Chicago from New York... Goran wrote:  "If Spiderman decided that he no longer wanted to websling from the Empire State Building..."  I can wonder about Spiderman relocating to Columbus.
I wrote about it on ColumbusBestBlog.com Spidey would of course live in downtown Columbus so he could hang out at  Leveque Tower, the Art Deco "skyscraper" built in 1927.  The second tallest building in Columbus has the right  feel for the cartoon character.  I believe it is 47 stories tall.
If I can speculate about Spiderman moving to Central Ohio I can take it further … (4 comments)

osu: "Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite ... " - 05/25/07 09:54 PM
Growing up my mother said  "Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite"  to us at bedtime.  I had no concept of what "sleep tight" meant but the part about bed bugs really concerned me.
Bedbugs were virtually eradicated from the United Stats after World War II according to what I have read about them.  I have heard and read about bedbugs return to  the US.
Darn, Columbus was already having trouble sleeping before the news.
The news, bedbugs in Columbus
I am going back to sleep... or to bed anyway.

Broker Bryant's "Martin Luther King, rest in peace my brother"  about him sneaking out as a boy in the 1960's to watch a Ku Klux Klan rally, reminded me of a book "Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age" by Kevin Boyle.
Ossian Sweet, the main character in this true story was haunted by seeing a lynching as a child in Florida.  This was pre- Martin Luther King, the teens and twenties... The majority of the story takes place in Detroit but Sweet went to college in Ohio at Wilberforce University, which describes itself as" "The oldest … (2 comments)
