A photo of W. Wilson Bridge Rd. in Worthington in 1937...
A photo of W. Wilson Bridge Road in Sharon Township in 1937. As Don O'Brien who took the photo of his friend and his brother says at the time, W. Wilson Bridge was not in the Worthington Corporation at the time... it was years before the area was annexed to the city of Worthington. I am guessing the mailing address for W. Wilson Bridge at the time would have been Worthington, Ohio?
The photo is of course, not of W. Wilson Bridge Road! The photo was taken in 1937 … (4 comments)

Do you say MT Air or Mount Air? or Mt Air
The sign on Olentangy River Road says "MT AIR" and Google Maps says "Mt Air."
MT AIR or Mount Air is pretty little place on the map in northern Franklin County. It is just west of the Olentangy River, on 315 but this is the gorgeous scenic Route 315 north of 270...
When I moved to Columbus the Mt Air swimming pool was on the east side of the road. The Mount Air Place condos must be where the swimming pool was.

Worthington schools are called the Worthington City School District today.
The George Bleimes family moved from the east side of Columbus to High St. just south of the Village of Worthington in the 1920s. They had a Worthington mailing address.
The Bleimes family history by George Bleimes (the son) says:
"My mother had been an elementary-level teacher before marriage and was critical of the “country” schools of the Worthington School District. Therefore my parents paid tuition for me to attend Columbus schools. Columbus buses did not come out as far as our home, so I had to ride the street car … (0 comments)

The Village of Flint in northern Franklin County has been annexed to the City of Columbus for some time. Or perhaps there are still unincorporated areas along Flint Rd. and Park Rd. mixed in among the City of Columbus neighborhoods in the area:

The Worthingway neighborhood in Worthington Ohio was built in the early 1960s. A Worthingway map shows streets now in the City of Worthington including Longfellow, Poe, Hawthorne, Stevenson, Thackery... authors names... great authors names. Other streets if they are writers names they are beyond my literary knowledge, Riley?, Bryant?, Tonbridge and Highgate?

Worthington Schools a bus on W. Wilson Bridge Rd. Don O'Brien (Dok1 on Flickr) calls his photo "School Bus on Snow-covered Road (1938)"
Mr. O'Brien who grew up in the Worthington area says "I don't recall our school having any "snow days". The bus is a 1937 Dodge that replaced the 1929 Ford."
Wilson Bridge Road was north of Worthington in the 1930's. It was an unincorporated area in Sharon Township in the 1930s and after. On another Worthington photo with a bus on Flickr, Don O'Brien says the Methodist Childrens Home was in the country north … (0 comments)
