myrtle beach: Myrtle Beach Real Estate Update: CNN calls the area "Foreclosure Hotspot" - 02/08/11 11:26 AM
Do you believe it? Is it the end as we know it for Myrtle Beach real estate? What does that mean to us? Are we in bad shape in this area compared to the rest of the country?  Maybe our building spurts 5-8 years ago taught us a lesson? Too many properties to go around?   Am I being too dramatic?
Maybe.
The CNN article on Myrtle Beach says we had a 44% increase in foreclosures in 2010. (After a 446% increase in 2009.) I'm no math wiz, but that is a fairly large number. It attributes the increase to the recession.  Makes sense.   Recession = … (1 comments)

myrtle beach: Myrtle Beach Real Estate sees year-end gains in 2009 - 01/18/10 01:23 PM
There was a nice article in the Sun News about the Myrtle Beach real estate market. It seems things are starting to look up for the Grand Strand. And about time too!
After a slow year for sales, the real estate market in Myrtle Beach is finally beginning to head in the other direction, according to statistics compiled from the Myrtle Beach MLS. Real estate agents found themselves gaining business and busier than ever in December, said Marvin Heyd of Prudential Burroughs and Chapin Realty.  Of course, with the increase in workload, the wheels are starting to roll again.

myrtle beach: Does using Google Adwords put you on a "SOLICIT ME" list? - 06/18/09 10:35 AM
Ok, so maybe the graphic is a little corney, but still.
Here is my predicament. Ever since we started advertising heavily with Google Adwords, and paying for those little bitty text ads, we have been getting more and more phone calls from companies who want to manage our Pay Per Click Google accounts.
Has anyone else had this experience?
I know Myrtle Beach is a fairly competitive market when it comes to Ad Words and the vacation rental industry. Large companies pay top dollar for their placement.  And why wouldn't they. It works!  But does that automatically mean that some company … (0 comments)

myrtle beach: Myrtle Beach Real Estate: Are we still saying the F-word? - 06/11/09 03:51 PM
Is now the time to buy in Myrtle Beach? What about two weeks ago? What about next month?    When IS the right time to buy?  When are we going to stop saying the "F-word"?It depends. There has been a sales burst recently in Myrtle Beach.  Will it continue? Who knows.  But there are some excellent deals being made right now in the Myrtle Beach real estate market. Deals that probably won't come around again for quite some time. (Talking decades here.)   Think about it. The sellers really want OUT. They keep lowering their prices and taking less and less for their condo … (1 comments)
