Selling a Home? Here are Some Factors that you CAN Control - 11/28/11 04:27 PM
This post was written by my good friend Jason Crouch, a real estate broker that I really admire.
The following factors are relevant whether you are selling a home in Bryan - College Station or Austin, in fact anywhere in the country. Price, Condition and Agent are the 3 factors within your control when it comes to selling your home.
Via Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (512-796-7653) (Austin Texas Homes, LLC):
When you’re trying to sell your home, there are things that you simply can’t change. If you bought in an awkward location, there’s not much you can do … (0 comments)

An amazing afternoon at a unique cafe & haven in the heart of Texas. - 11/26/11 01:25 PM
After watching an episode of Hairy Bikers on the History Channel, watch the show, I was immediately fascinated by a trip they took to Royers Round Top Cafe. It seemed like a magical place, full of curiosity, fun and great pie! After doing a little search online I found out that this wonderful place was only an hour drive away from Bryan - College Station, or "just a conversation away". How on earth had I missed it? My 10 year daughter (who's a budding pastry chef) also watched it and she fell in love with Bud the Pieman, so a trip was definitely in order!

Bryan Texas Utilities - New Fandangle Meters - 11/26/11 06:37 AM
So Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) have completed installing all the new meters in our service area. These meters, known as Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), are the latest in electricity usage reading thingy's.
What does all that mean?
Well essentially it means that you are now completely connected to BTU in a kind of loop.
BTU ---> Tower ---> YOU ---> Tower ---> BTU and so on.
A big circle of communication. We are told that this will give us a more convenient way for us to monitor our electricity usage online and in real time, which is cool! It … (3 comments)

The official rules of Thanksgiving - 11/23/11 12:45 PM

The official rules of thanksgiving.
Withholding alcohol from your guests is an official form of torture not sanctioned by the U.S. government. In-laws must be offered the opportunity to sit at the table (with their chairs facing inwards) and they must be provided with knives as well as forks (although plastic is optional). There is only one prayer at the dinner table and each praying guest is limited to one minute of thanks. Mentions of thanks regarding teenage pregnancy, evading the law or your drug dealer not getting caught will silenced with a slap. All guests are limited to … (2 comments)

A funny story from Carolyn Pinson - 11/15/11 01:26 PM
The following is a story one of my agents wrote about.
Carolyn Pinson is a really great high producing agent, who has a high referral rate. She is quick witted and always tries to see the funny side in any occasion.
She just recently started blogging and I laugh every time I read her posts. To meet Carolyn is to meet a warm welcoming friend. No wonder she gets so many repeat clients and referrals. She recently set up a new word press  blog so right now there are only a couple of posts on it but given time she will … (2 comments)

Cheapest Beer in Texas - 11/13/11 01:25 PM

Spare a thought for Brian T. Moynihan, President and CEO of Bank of America.
Arriving in a hotel in Texas, he went to the bar and asked for a Coors on draft.
The barman nodded and said, "That will be one dollar please, Mr. Moynihan."
Somewhat taken aback, Moynihan replied, "That's very cheap," and handed over his money.
"Well, we try to stay ahead of the competition", said the barman. "And we are serving free draught beer every Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. We have the cheapest beer in Texas".
"That is remarkable value", Brian … (6 comments)
