Lakefair and summer - Olympia's annual community celebration brings out young and old to have some fun! Olympia's annual Lakefair is in full swing right now - and yesterday was our family day to head down for some rides, some dinner and some people watching fun. The showery weather has kept crowds down just a bit, but we were able to scout out which rides a 3 year old could ride on (while muttering about the high cost of tickets for said rides!!).

Olympia's annual Lakefair festival comes to town next week for its 2011 season of July 13-17. Here are some highlights of what you can expect:
Carnival rides, including that ferris wheel towering over Capitol Lake with awesome views of the Capitol Dome as you go up and up and up. Food - lots and lots of food!! Lakefair - an Olympia, WA community tradition will be opening up this year on Wednesday, July 14th.
