Today a past client sent me a copy of a very "official" looking letter he had received, stating that for the nominal fee of just $59.50 payable by check or credit card, he could receive a copy of his property deed document indicating his ownership of the property purchased on such and such a date, as recorded with our local county Recorder.

So many times, I find people that are renting have no idea that they could in reality be paying LESS PER MONTH TO BUY a house THAN TO RENT a house or apartment.
Current interest rates are at a historial low. What does this mean to you really?
An interest rate of 5% (and as of today the rates were below that for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage) would mean that you are paying $5.37 per $1000.00 borrowed. Simply put, that means that if you borrowed $60,000.00 your payment would be $322.20 per month!

Each day provides me with an opportunity to assist someone in making a good decision about where they live.
Today wasn't any particularly special or particularly stressful day. It had its good points and its low points. It was a day however, that made me smile when I finally had answered all the calls, responded to all the emails, made all the appointments for tomorrow, scanned all the paperwork to the appropriate people, looked up answers to the unanswered questions, and did a prestart of paperwork for tomorrow.

While I can not speak for the rest of the country I can tell you that in Toledo, Ohio a new buyer should beware of a possible impending water/sewage lien on their newly purchased home.
Due to the fact that water and sewer bills can become a lien against a property unlike electric and gas bills, I have always made it a practice to contact the water division shortly before closing to see if there may be any pending water liens on a property my client is purchasing, saving my clients thousands of dollars … (0 comments)
