There are currently 170 single family homes on the market in Carteret County that are listed for more than 1 million. There are 35 homes listed for over 2 million.In the past 6 months, 13 homes have sold for in excess of 1 million. Only one home has sold for over 2 million. In the past 6 months 700 homes sold for less than 1 million. There are 1577 active residential listings in the MLS today.   Fishing is a way of life in the coastal areas of North Carolina. Whether a serious angler or a recreational fisher, this past January added a necessary fishing license for Coastal Recreational Fishing.
                                                   Dont get "caught" without it!
If you are over the age of 16, fishing in the public waters of NC, you will now need a license issued by the North Carolina Division of marine Fisheries.  1-800-682-2632
These areas include the sounds, coastal rivers and their tributaries, surf fishing and pier fishing. All shore fishing out to 3 miles in the ocean.

Nestled in the middle of Bogue Banks is the waterfront community of Salter Path and Indian Beach. With a big pupolation of 92 full time residents the annual attraction of vacationers from all around boosts this sleepy towns economy during tourist season. With a little push , I have been forced to face my selfish comfort zone of living "large"  (as in the newfound term Carbon Footprint) and feeling..well..guilty!
I was raised by wonderful parents that instilled conservation on a daily basis- "Turn the light off", "that is enough water" , "dont litter" and "dont waste your food, take what you are going to eat, there are starving children...".
  I am sure we all have heard these terms and maybe some of us feel that we contribute to helping the planet by continuing to do these small tasks.. But, seriously, who are we kidding … (5 comments)

Atlantic Beach NC is such a great place to get away! Many, many, visitors to Carteret County are second home owners that jump in the car at the end of a hectic work week, hop on the highway and arrive at the Crystal Coast in a relatively short amount of time. Honoring the Family I have Married into- The Connors, of Western PA.  Coal Mining was the way of life for this family of Irish Descent. Once rooted, the Connors raised the next generation locally and my father inlaw earned his college degree .
