Sunday Sermon: 8-5-07 Ive Got Moxie - How 'Bout You ? I have quite a bit of American Indian ( Choctaw and Creek ) in me and my husband will tell you I have a stubborn streak.. I didn't say meanness just stubborn - there's a difference! I prefer to call it Moxie ! With over 12 years in Real Estate I have honed my moxie to gain that edge necessary to succeed. active rain: Sunday Sermon- Talent is Never Enough - 07/29/07 07:37 PM
My husband is a collegiate football coach. His job requires motivating and inspiring 18-20 year old to be their best and to truly believe in teamwork. His approach has always been to be a role model. This year the University of North Carolina has a new head coach, Coach Butch Davis, and with his new leadership the team has learned to adjust and refocus. I am excited about the upcoming season and know the foundation being built right now is a sturdy and reliable one. Coach Davis gave his assistants a book, also todays sermon title " Talent is Never Enough". I have

active rain: Its Turtle Time along the Crystal Coast - 05/09/07 05:44 PM
Childhood memories include the ocean and Loggerhead Turtle season. Walking the shoreline with the "Turtle Lady" and witnessing something so endearing it reminds you we hold a huge responsibility to care for creatures both large and small. Our late night walks with the "turtle Lady " during the summer time relied upon the guidance of the moonlight to light our path. The same excitement that stirred within me as a child still warms my heart oh so many years later. May thru August beach guest are encouraged to watch for our North Carolina species of Sea Turtles-specifically the Loggerhead, Leatherback, Green, Kemps Ridley

active rain: Emerald Isle North Carolina - Family Oriented Communities - 02/07/07 02:18 PM
I love Emerald Isle. This island is what made me eventually live here full time. We purchase a beach cottage in Ocean Oaks many moons ago and spent many weekends unwinding in the sand and recharging for a busy work week. The kids were small at the time and we felt Emerald Isle provided activity sites as well as very clean beaches and friendly neighbors. Fast forward 12 yrs and we move to the mainland full time so I could " sell the place I love! " We still have the cottage and still enjoying long days on the beach with our toes in the sand! Today

active rain: My Day Trip to Oriental NC Today... - 11/20/06 05:57 PM
Today I spent a few hours sightseeing before the Nor'Easter blew in. Ole Brutus and I jumped in the car at noon, stopping in Beaufort to drop off some paperwork. Our destination was Oriental NC, located in Pamlico County-. We drove 18 miles from Beaufort up Hwy 101 to the Cherry Branch NC Ferry exchange. Although we had Carolina Blue Skies, the wind made the seas a bit choppy and Brutus was not interested in watching for birds. The ferry ride is just a few minutes and upon arriving to the 'other side' we stopped for a drink at the ole diner there just before Minnesott

I Miss You Grandpa..It is Veterans Day today and you aren' t here. It has been a long nine months convincing myself you are gone. I just want to say I know how very proud Americans are that you fought so hard for our country; Not once but twice ( WW II and Korea). You were just a young man with an 8th grade education that gave his all for our country. Born of 10 children (8 boys and 2 girls) it amazes me that 5 brothers went and returned unharmed. I know this was a time of your life that you rarely spoke of. I
