When you think of Coastal Carolina, you may think sandy beaches and palm trees. This cow is part of a herd less than a mile from my home in Morehead City. It's cool to have cows mooing and rooster crowing in the morning while living a coastal life! The farm is situated along the Newport River which offers quite the view for this fella!

With The Big Rock Blue Marlin Fishing Tournament shortly upon us ( June 6 -13 ) I found this photo from a past year when I went out on Ladies Day to fish.. The salty air and steady humm of the engines couldnt distract me from the beautiful sunrise on the horizon.

This week I had the opportunity to sit with other local Managing Brokers and listen to the Morehead City Town Manager Randall "Randy" Martin discuss the local budget and cost effective planning from his perspective.
"Shining Moments " are discussed as Manager Martin reviews his course of action to maintain low tax rate for citizens while continuing slow growth/ economic development.

The East Carteret Mariners have held on and qualified for the playoffs!
Under the helm of new Head Coach Kemp Ewing, the ECHS Mariners have found success this season while rebuilding the program.
I am particularly hopeful for continued success during the playoffs as my son Beau, #33 , is a Senior and this prolongs his HS career! This week not only did we get to see victory against LeJeune (Jacksonville NC) but my husband and I were proud Senior Parents that walked on the field with our son on Senior Nite...
Bittersweet emotions I tell ya !

Shhh...Carteret County may be the best kept secret when it come to tax rates!
Our tax base is supported heavily by tourism and second home ownership.We are thankful for both.We also recognize that keeping the rate low allows many the opportunity to own real estate in Carteret County. With lower taxes, the opportunity allows for you to esentially get "more bang for the buck". Your monthly debt isn't chewed up with the higher tax rates found up and down the eastern seaboard. This post is to ask for advise rather than give.
My dilemna: I have been really putting a focus on learning more about getting web presence and have so much to learn. My mind spins with all the information available and all the different avenues one can choose to take to build credibility and a strong base for attracting both buyers and sellers to my "flypaper". It is easy for me to get distracted and lose focus of the task at hand.

The 29th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournamentis coming June 9-16, 2007 to Morehead City NC
Last year several ladies of my Coldwell Banker Spectrum Properties office entered in the Lady Angler Day and went offshore to the "Big Rock" for a fantastic day of fishing!
Some of us were able to get together for the Big Rock Kick Off Dinner!

This is a favorite time if year! The mums are popping up and the weather is dropping to the 70s now. As much as I love summer- I always embrace the cooler weather by October and the upcoming buzz of the NC Seafood Festival! http://www.ncseafoodfestival.org/ . Water is still warm and the ocean breeze is pushing out the humidity.
