Ok, I realize many of you readers are saying , good grief she's excited about the snow--BUT--
It rarely snows along the NC coastline and just wanted to share our silly morning with you!
Todays snowfall measured at 7" on my back porch, 9" in my yard!

After a long week of rain and wind from the Nor'Easter produced from remnants if Tropical Storm Ida ,
the weekend weather and temps were simply beautiful.
Tonights sunset splashing into the marsh was a perfect punctuation to a great Coastal weekend.

My favorite time of year is here.. cool ocean breezes and temps hovering around 70.
Tourism traffic has slowed, no lines in the restaurants and miles of shoreline to stroll and unwind.

My husband and I moved to Greenville in Eastern North Carolina nearly 20 years ago and at every opportunity we found ourselves driving to the Crystal Coast on the weekends to "recharge our batteries". With two toddlers at the time we enjoyed the sun and surf as well as the casualness of the town. Carteret County offered us the ability to vacation or get-away without the neon lights and razzle dazzle other coastal towns gimmick themselves with. It truly is a family oriented coast.

If you are considering buying a home (or renovating a home ) built prior to 1978 the following is very important:Homes and apartments built prior to 1978 have paint that the EPA reports as having high levels of lead and are considered to be a health risk if precautions are not taken when handling the materials. Lead-based paint is no longer made, but in home built prior to 1978 it was an added ingredient of paint.Sellers must disclose any known information they may have about the lead in their homes. Real estate agents typically include the right to obtain a professional Wood Destroying Insect Report (WDIR) as part of the NC Offer to Purchase for their buyer..More than likely the lender will make this a condition of the loan as well.
N.C law requires the inspector providing the WDIR make "careful visual examination of all accessible areas of a building and the sounding of accessible structural members adjacent to slab areas...and other areas particularly susceptible to attack by wood destroying insects."
often sheds and detached structures will convey 'as is'. Meaning WDIR will not apply.
