Shhh...Carteret County may be the best kept secret when it come to tax rates!
Our tax base is supported heavily by tourism and second home ownership.We are thankful for both.We also recognize that keeping the rate low allows many the opportunity to own real estate in Carteret County. With lower taxes, the opportunity allows for you to esentially get "more bang for the buck". Your monthly debt isn't chewed up with the higher tax rates found up and down the eastern seaboard.
