Are your freebies up to date? - 06/30/09 10:55 PM
Many real estate agents have been in the practice of giving away free info or freebies in exchange for a name and phone number or email address. Even before marketing online took hold, many provided toll-free info lines. If you’re doing something like this, now may be the time to step back and reevaluate whether your “freebie” provides the same value it used to.
With the changed economy, many buyers and sellers have new concerns and different questions they’d like answered. Think of ways that you can be the agent in your area that is providing the answers potential clients are … (7 comments)

Your Database Defines Your Business Success - 06/30/09 10:27 PM
Whatever your opinion of the current economic situation, we all appreciate free tools when it comes to generating business. As a “back to basics” task, think about your client database. How many people are in it? How current is it? Remember, your database should be full of people you have worked with, networked with, or gotten to know in the community that are happy to hear from you.

TweetDeck is an Adobe Air application designed to help you better monitor your Twitter account. Rather than logging onto Twitter on the web, you open … (11 comments)

Giving Your Social Media Tools To Your Clients - 06/14/09 10:23 AM
I read a great article recetly from Dave Smith at the Real Estate Blog Lab on “TweetGrid - Helping your Social 2.0 Clients Prepare for the Move”.
Dave’s got a great idea here - take the tools you use for your social media marketing, and give them to your clients! The tools you are using to find and connect with people on sites like Twitter are also very valuable to your client if they are (even somewhat) active on social media sites. Show them how to use an application like Twitter Local or TweetGrid to make early connections to new neighbors … (3 comments)

A Secret for Ramping Up Your Referrals - 06/09/09 01:21 PM
As we’ve all probably heard, you won’t get what you don’t ask for. I’m sure you’ve heard that, and hopefully you are in the habit of asking for referrals from your clients at the end of the transaction, as well as occasionally throughout the year as you make contact with them.
However, there’s another, easy way to approach friends, family and past clients alike to remind them that you are in the real estate business and appreciate referrals, without ever having to be pushy.
Let them know what you’re up to.
If you’re pretty new to the business, you might consider … (11 comments)
