real estate: Real Estate and the Broken Neck! - 02/22/10 06:57 AM
Sure we all have on some occasion have thought Real Estate is a pain in the neck...but I have taken this to new heights. Having always had a flare for the dramatic, in early fall I managed to break my neck. It's true! Not selling houses, not falling down some basement stairs, not by being in a car wreck no... I chose an easier softer way to change my life...YOGA! Upward dog can really screw you up if you have lived an "extreme life" and have degenerating discs! Yes it is true. So after major surgery and the installation of a

real estate: The Power of Keeping in Touch.... - 02/17/10 07:15 AM
Six years after I sold this sweet little Cape with large yard and one car garage, I got the call. My clients had since had 2 small boys and needed to move closer to grand parents for love and support. Could I sell their house? In 7 days we had this sweet piece of Cape Cod under contract with a closing date that works for my sellers. Of course I can sell your house! The post cards, the phone calls, the Christmas rememberences... The welcome new baby gifts... paid off. You see... this house is out of my area.

real estate: Mentor groups equals success... - 08/21/08 09:02 PM
I have the privilage of speaking every other week with two Real Estate Professionals in other parts of the world for one hour. It's my mentor group. We work in widely different markets. We are experiencing different yet the same challenges. We meet to stay accountable. To offer help. To provoke inspiration and to be our own "quality assurance" department. In the land of the self employed, of the independent contractor... what a gift to have people out side the local area to guide, share, and inspire. Suzanne is a single mother working to provide for her daughter in the southern

real estate: Final Four Hockey had us riveted as Home town boy brings BC to a win.... - 04/17/08 06:06 AM
Ok... so just need to share this with the Active RAin community. Kitty Muse is an agent in my office, she is also my tennis partner and good friend. Her son John has been in my life for 10 years and I have watched him grow into a fine young man. This past weekend the Cape Cod community was riveted to the TV as young John Muse joined his Boston College team on the ice as the goalie in Denver. John is a 19 year old freshman and we were all so excited that he was (is) living his dream. Kitty, has put

real estate: Service... Being a Friend in Need is a friend in deed.... - 04/07/08 09:22 AM
This weekend was a busy weekend for me. Loads of business and open houses. I had a blast. When I finally had time to look at the Cape Cod Times newspaper I was shocked to see my dear friends son in the headlines. Seems he firebombed a house full of sleeping babies... Four small children and two parents. The firebomb landed on the childrens bed. Everyone got out safely but the house was destroyed and he was in the paper in hand cuffs along with some of his gang members. The paper said it was over a screw driver... huh? Please... What

real estate: Title misfortunes and the art of persistance.... - 03/09/08 08:14 PM
Okay...so I take a listing after 3 other agents have given up or turned tail in despair... What do I know? I am new at this and to some extent, let's face it , ignorance is bliss...So this woman finds me at an open house... I list the house... and who knew... I sell it. The house is on the water, no bridges (means boats have free unobstructed access to the great Atlantic), the property is neglected but livable... and it is all about location, location, location. The owners are several survivors of the deceased. A year ago ...we go to close
