cool ca: Auburn to Cool California Foothills May Find Foreclosure Relief - 10/01/11 05:07 PM
Efforts to help California homeowners avoid foreclosure and keep their homes received a big boost recently when Bank of America agreed to participate in a principal-reduction program.
It became the first major mortgage service company to join the program, which can offer cash-strapped mortgage holders up to $100,000 in relief on their loans. Bank of America services more than 2.2 million home loans in the state.
The program aids home-owners at risk of default because of economic hardship and a severe decline in their home values.

Georgetown Divide in El Dorado County has been named among the 100 Best Communities for Young People in America by America's Promise Alliance.
America's Promise Alliance is a national organization based in Washington DC, founded by General Colin Powell and his wife Alma Powell and dedicated to improving the lives of American children.
The Alliance touts that every young person deserves five promises in life: caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education and opportunities to help others.
This is the third year the Georgetown Divide has been honored on the 100 Best Communities list.

Housing sales are happening for those that are priced accurately. Buyers are looking for value as well as price. Home values are stablizing in the under $350k price range. Homes over $500k will still see downward adjustments.

The 1st stage of the Tour of California is now a memory, but it will go down as remarkable one for Cool. My involvement with the Divide Chamber of Commerce and active participation in the Auburn Chamber of Commerce put me in the "cat bird" seat to see the race both as an organizer and a spectator. May 16th brought at least 2,500 people to Cool. We had a Chamber VIP tent set up complete with VIP parking and shuttles to the race viewing area provided by Red Hawk Casino and horse drawn carriage rides by Iron Horse Ranch.
