fun in auburn: Mel's Diner to open in June in Auburn, CA - 05/23/10 12:41 PM
Mel's Diner will be opening in June, hopefully in time for Cruise Night the second Friday in June. Eventually it will be an addition to a very short list of resturants or late night haunts that is open after 10 PM with a goal of being 24/7 in July. Mel's Diner is on the corner of Hwy 49 and Luther Rd. with access only off of 49.

Shooting stars, what a treat! Perseids Meteor Shower. The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak. This year's peak occurs on the morning of August 12, but you may be able to see some meteors any time from now through August 22. The waning gibbous moon will provide some interference in the early morning, so the best viewing will be in the evening before it rises.
