positive attitude: The Company You Keep - 11/02/09 01:23 PM
There are a lot of sayings that come to mind when thinking about the people around us. A man is known by the company he keeps... Birds of a feather flock together... One bad apple spoils the bunch... We are not bound in our life by proverbs, but it is easy to pick up the attitudes od those around you. Take a look at who is around you in your daily life. Are they positive or negative? Helpful or hurtful? Toxic or healthy? It's been said - via another proverb - that you should fear an evil friend more than a beast

positive attitude: Make Yourself More Positive - 11/01/09 02:15 PM
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner recently said that he is optimistic about the state of the U.S. economy, though recovery has been uneven. Of course, the same page of the MSN homepage featured a story about why the U.S. is in decline. Read both stories and you'll realize you have to make a choice. You can accept things going on in our society as "proof" things are on the downslide or you can accentuate the positive. You may be thinking, "Oh, that's what Bob always says." If so, you are right. You choose how you feel. I have built my coaching career

positive attitude: You Can Live an Extraordinary Life When the Evidence Doesn't Support It - 09/29/09 10:17 PM
A fellow coach, Kim Ades, recently gave a seminar with a provocative title: How to Live an Extraordinary Life when the Evidence Doesn't Support It. Every time I read that title, I find myself structuring a blog. Maybe all of us coaches think alike and promote a similar brand of positive thinking, but her title sums up my philosophy. How do most people measure success in life? With money and prosperity? Fame? Children? A nice home and car? What is it for real estate agents? Awards from the franchise? Ever increasing sales volume? Industry designations? Invitations to speak at conference? Regard

positive attitude: Waiting for the Light in the Tunnel - 05/31/09 06:46 AM
Not surprisingly, when I go speak somewhere, people always hope that my crystal ball fit within my airline luggage limit. They say: It's been a little scary these last couple of years. Do you think the market will get better soon? I always say "Yes!" Why? Because it always does. Markets, by their very nature, are cyclical. I know when things slow down, nerves fray. But step back and look at the bigger picture. Markets go down and they go up. As for the current market, I'm just one of many who's saying that because of the ultra-low interest rates and

positive attitude: Keeping Positive in a Slowing Market - 04/16/09 08:50 PM
"No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit." Helen Keller Chances are good that if you're reading this, given the title, you are not feeling positive about today's real estate market or have other associates that are not being positive. Well, let me relieve some stress. The market has been abnormally strong over the last four years, so the market is not a down market, it's a traditional market. Anyone who's been in real estate more than four years knows this. The market is doing

positive attitude: 10 Tips to Create Your Best Year Ever - 02/12/09 02:38 PM
Now is a great time to plan for your best year ever! Before you pull out all of your business planning tools, take a moment to evaluate how "you" factor into your own success. By changing habits that are causing you to not reach and exceed your goals, you will naturally attract success. If you feel that you are not reaching your goals and you want this year to be the best year ever, ask yourself the following questions: 1. Do you visualize you own success? 2. Do you know when to say "no"? 3. Do you continually raise your standards?

positive attitude: Positive Work Place - 04/30/07 05:41 PM
Do you often walk around your office and find that no one is smiling. You see your staff answering the phones while multi-tasking on the computer, reading paperwork or they just appear to be lost in space somewhere. Does your office have an atmosphere, that if a client were to walk into they would feel uncomfortable, if so, you need to ask yourself the following questions: As the CEO, do you have a positive attitude? Do you say "It's My Pleasure"? Does your team focus on maintaining positive attitudes? If you answered "NO" to one or more of these questions, that
