Where does the Public Go To Rate a Realtor?

Sometime ago I read a post on the Rain about rating realtors and where the public goes to do that.

I looked thru my saved posts and old comments and cannot find the article.

I did a Search on Active Rain.

I also Googled with several phraises, etc.

Please Please, if anyone reads this do you recall?

I Have Missed Active Rain

I love Active Rain. The networking, the sharing, all of the information and the friends I have made.

Over a month ago I took a position working for a Top Realtor in Naples, FL. It is a full time position and the office and team is very busy.

I just came up for air and Active Rain kept on coming up in conversations with one of the vendors. It was then that I said "Right...Active Rain...a great place to be".

Have to get back into the grove and visit my favorite Rainmakers and read their posts, invite some new friends to become rainmakers and get to work on my Blog.

Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club Lunch Date

Today we had lunch in the Grille Room of the Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club. We sat by the window and looked out onto the beautiful golf course. I do not golf but I must say that overlooking that beautiful course makes me want to go out and get a set of clubs.

Getting back to lunch, it was quiet today and there are few residents left in the summer, most returning north until next season. My lunch was great, a turkey club wrap and these wonderful onion rings that were shared.

Reservations are not required for lunch but must be made for dinner and you must be accompanied by a member for admission.

Interseted in Naples, FL, Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club is 10 minutes from downtown Naples and right outside of Marco Island.

I know some great realtors that can assist.

This incredible tree is nick named an Angels Trumpet Tree. This is the second time that it has bloomed since moving in mid-April. It is a cutting off of the neighbor's tree and actually looks like trumpets. We were considering having it "cut down" when we purchased the property but changed our minds...Glad we did.

First Day of Summer in Sunny Naples Florida

Here we are at the first day of Summer in Sunny Naples Florida. I have never stayed in Florida this long. The latest I stayed was mid June of 2008 and the earliest I have ever arrived was October.

I have heard all of the negative things about Florida in the summer time and now I will see for myself.

Bugs, I imagined swarms of large bugs but so far only some gnats and mosquitoes (be prepared and apply bug spray.
Heat, I imagined opressive heat that would make you pass out in a moment, the hottest it gets is in the high 90's (carry water along with you and it is fine)
The "Rainy Season"...yes, it rains every day, usually in the afternoon or evening and then it is gone until the next evening.
The sun is very intense so dress accordingly with light white clothing and a hat.
The beach is less crowded so you will always be able to find a spot
The roads are less crowded
The local restaurants are running specials daily.

So far, so good, especially since our friends up North, specifically New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland have experienced 15 straight days of rain. Come on down to the Sunshine and get some great off season deals.

Rescue Animals, The Law of Attraction

Our rescue cat, Brutus a/k/a Bruter and not Boot, has settled into our household. He is wonderful, loving, polite and very social. There is not one thing that he does that is not acceptable (just a little shedding)

Boot is the perfect cat and I can only imagine how distressed his former owner was having to give him up for adoption, there had to be a very good reason.

We had just happened to walk into the Humane Society of Naples that particular day and there he was at the window waiting for us. He is what I had always imagined a pet cat to be. I once had another white cat named Strohs and I never imagined I would be able to replace him. Boot is everything good that Strohs was and more.

Boot seems very Grateful to be with us. Do you think he realizes that he was rescued and that is why he is so good?

Prior to Boot we had an Old English Sheepdog, Star, she was rescued from a shelter in Philadelphia. Her owner, an older woman, passed away. We had recently had our male Old English put to sleep; we were crushed and missed him so much a search for his siblings which brought me in a round about way to the Old English Rescue of NJ and then to Star, in Philly.

She was the same, a perfect dog, very loving and sweet.

I communicated thru Pet Finders with the Old English Rescue in Coperstown FL. this past January prior to my relocation to Naples. They told me about a male dog one year old that had some vision problems, the timing was not correct and we did not get him. The other day I was walking out of a convenience store after paying for gas in Naples. There was an Old English in the car. I started a conversation with the owner and it was the same dog that was up for adoption in Coperstown. Another sweet, loving, perfect dog that is so grateful for his home.

Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club, Naples FL Hosts Summer Camp

There was an electrifying excitement in the air this past Tuesday as the summer campers arrived at Eagle Creek for the start of Summer Camp.

The camp at Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club is sponsored by the members who contribute funds and volunteer during the three week period. The camp runs from 10:30 to 1:30 for three weeks - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and began on June 9th.

Campers are from Parkside Elementary School in Naples. It is free for the campers! Each camper receives a backpack to carry bathing suits etc., a hat, camp shirts and a water bottle the first day of camp.

Parkside School, a title one school, is a new school located beside Lely High School. The students are fifth grade students who will attend Manatee Middle School next year and there are a few fourth grade students who will be returning to Parkside next year. The students are bussed from the school to Eagle Creek and back to the school. The school provides two counselors in training.

Once at Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club, the 22 students are divided into two groups, the Eagles and the Bullfrogs. While one group has their hour of tennis instructions, the other group has golf instructions - then they switch. The instructors at Eagle Creek are professionals in tennis and golf.

At 12:30 everyone comes back to the deck on the tennis center for lunch, followed by swimming, a favorite part of the day.

The members at Eagle Creek help with the golf instructions. lunches and swimming. There are 12 non swimmers and volunteers have stepped forward to teach swimming. It is the goal of the members of Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club to have all of the campers become swimmers by the end of camp.

It is a very happy time for the members of the community and the campers. Everyone at Eagle Creek hopes the campers have fun and many years down the road will remember what they have learned from their experience.

Welcome Our New Adopted Cat

I have been very busy lately, doing this and that among other things I will not go into at the moment, we have adopted a cat from the Humaine Society of Naples.

This was our second trip into the shelter and we were looking for a dog. I promised before I went in that I would not "act up" (on my first visit I picked up a little kitten and tears came to my eyes)

Being an animal lover, it is difficult to walk by the dogs in their cages and not want to take them all home. The kittens are so adoroable, there was even a bunny in the cage.

As we walked thru the shelter, there he was, a tall thin white cat with a pink nose and green eyes.

He put his paw up to the glass, looked right in our eyes and meowed at us thru the glass. He tugged on our heart strings and I went in for a visit and some bonding. It was the end of the day and they were getting ready to close, we discussed the proceedure and got an application. We told the vet tech we would "discuss it" and she said she knew we would be back the next day.

His name is "Brutus" and his name does not suit him, so we call him Brutter (not that answers to anything).

Brutter has proven to be a great addition to our household. He is very neat and clean and well mannered. He loves to hang out and purr and loves to go out on the lani and chase the gecoes.

This is our second adopted pet, we had to put our rescue Old English Sheepdog to sleep in January. I wonder if adopted animals are so good because they know they have been rsecued and are grateful? I know that I am grateful for finding my rescue animals.

New Jersey Empty Wallet Convoy

Today I decided to check out the latest on my favorite radio station in New Jersey, NJ101.5. When I left the state two weeks ago they were asking listeners to mail to the State House emty wallets.

[I have to mention that I am in Sunny SouthWest Florida]

Approximately two weeks ago, the Governor had come out with his state of the union address. It will destroy our real estate industry in New Jersey. No more Homested Rebates to anyone except for the elderly, anyone making over $75,000 will pay an additional $100 per month and there will no longer be dedutions made on State Income Tax Returns for interest paid on mortgages and possibly for property taxes paid.

It is truly sad that the littlel state between New York and Philladelphia is the highest taxed in the Nation.

The Jersey Guys on 101.5 are conducting an Empty Wallet Convoy, going to various rest stops in the state and collecting empty wallets, at the end they will deliver them by herst to the State House,
