On Oct 7-12, The Moving Wall, a half size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be on display in Konahete Park in Murphy, North Carolina.  For 20 years, this memorial has toured the US with the mission set forth on the Moving Wall website:
 "IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES WHO SERVED IN THE VIETNAM WAR.  It's Fall in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina and there's no better way to celebrate than the upcoming John Campbell Folk School Fall Festival.
              
This year's event will be held October 3-4 from 10 AM-5PM on the grounds of the internationally known Folk School.  Activities include an arts and crafts fair with over 200 participants, selling traditional Appalachian folk arts -everything from pottery to quilts to authentic wooden pull toys.

Labor Day weekend will be even busier this year in Murphy, North Carolina with the 9th annual Heritage Walk and Festival taking place on Saturday, September 5.  The festival celebrates the history, music, arts and crafts and cultural heritage of Cherokee County.
