Queen Anne, Are You Ready? Winterfest Ice Skating at Seattle Center I don't ice skate a lot - almost never, but what a great way to celebrate the holidays!
My daughter decided that for her birthday, she wanted to go ice skating and I told her that there was no where to skate around here. She of course had already done her homework and pointed out that we could ice skate practically under the Space Needle if we wanted to.
In fact, Seattle Center has Winterfest going on right now and there are lots of events including...ice skating.

This chart is for residential Queen Anne Homes For Sale in January 2011 only. It is sometimes difficult to get the numbers until a little later the next month because some transactions are not changed in a timely manner in our NWMLS system.
These numbers reflect Queen Anne single family only– so no Queen Anne Condos. January closings are final and there were officially 78 Queen Anne Homes for sale at the end of January, 11 that got offers and went pending (so they were successful offers), and 20 closed transactions.

The Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle just had Old John Hay renamed to Queen Anne Elementary as reported by the Seattle Times. According to the Times, Queen Anne Elementary will reopen as an option school. The school originally opened in 1905 and has a long history in the Queen Anne neighborhood. It is one of Seattle's oldest schools and luckily got some love and care after falling into complete disrepair. Today, it is a gorgeous focal point in the neighborhood - you can find it at 411 Boston St. on Queen Anne Hill.

The Wilcox Wall is just one of the jewels in the Queen Anne Blvd necklace on the Queen Anne's West Slope. This amazing piece of Seattle history is such a key feature to this neighborhood and a wonderful place to take a stroll at just over .4 of a mile long.

Betty Bowen Viewpoint or Marshall Park on Queen Anne's Southwest slope is a thing of beauty. Betty Bowen was a patron of the arts in Seattle and supported artists like Morris Graves whom she met as a teenager. There are some wonderful art installations right here (including an unsigned Morris Graves)for all to enjoy if the view from Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood isn't enough.
Beautiful Southwest Queen Anne View Location: This park is located on the very West end of West Highland Drive over looking Seattle's Puget Sound and at the foot of the South end of the Wilcox Wall.

Queen Anne West slope real estate is hopping -there are some wonderful homes out there right now and Queen Anne has been selling pretty quickly given that this is the 2009 Seattle real estate market! West of Queen Anne Ave N all the way over to 10th Ave W and from about Prospect up North to McGraw was where we were focusing today and there are some wonderful choices in the $600,000 to $1,000,000 range. Upper Queen Anne is beautiful - I especially love the retail all along Queen Anne Ave N and the walkability that most of the homes in this area offer. I wanted to look at homes in the Upper Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle that score extremely high on Walk Score so I looked at the market just from 4th Ave W all the way East to 4th Ave N and from W Smith Street and Queen Anne Dr to the North down to W Lee St and Lee St where the hill starts really impeding walkability.
