Seattle City of Seven Hills:   In the late 1800's real estate developers decided to make Seattle be the city of seven hills similar to Rome and there have been varying theories through out the years ever since as to what are those seven hills?  The fact of the matter is Seattle is full of hills and slopes and steep bluffs, so picking just seven will always be a challenge.

Betty Bowen Viewpoint or Marshall Park on Queen Anne's Southwest slope is a thing of beauty.  Betty Bowen was a patron of the arts in Seattle and supported artists like Morris Graves whom she met as a teenager.  There are some wonderful art installations right here (including an unsigned Morris Graves)for all to enjoy if the view from Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood isn't enough.
Beautiful Southwest Queen Anne View Location:  This park is located on the very West end of West Highland Drive over looking Seattle's Puget Sound and at the foot of the South end of the Wilcox Wall.

Previewing Seattle homes - Seattle was so pretty today!   I was driving and not the one taking the pictures, by the way, East on the 520 bridge from Seattle to the Eastside on our way to go preview a few homes in Bellevue and Kirkland for a friend coming into town. 
 This shot was taken by Morgan looking East and a little South  so that he could capture the tip of Seattle's Madison Park neighborhood as well as Bellevue waterfront homes to the South of 520.

October 31st from 3PM to 5PM all along Queen Anne Ave from Galer to McGraws Streets!
Queen Anne Ave Trick-Or-Treating:  All your local Upper Queen Anne merchants will be handing out treats to all the costumed kiddies!  Safety for the little ones:  Not only that , but the merchants in this neighborhood are hiring an officer to assist with pedestrian traffic and safety at Queen Anne Ave and Boston and Queen Anne Ave and Crockett.

Upper Queen Anne is beautiful - I especially love the retail all along Queen Anne Ave N and the walkability that most of the homes in this area offer.  I wanted to look at homes in the Upper Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle that score extremely high on Walk Score so I looked at the market just from 4th Ave W all the way East to 4th Ave N and from W Smith Street and Queen Anne Dr to the North down to W Lee St and Lee St where the hill starts really impeding walkability.  I would expect that all … (2 comments)

Lake Union Loop aka the Cheshiahud Loop in Seattle WA touches lots of great neighborhoods and parks, loops some of my favorite Seattle waterfront neighborhoods, and offers great views along the way. Josh on Google made this great map and I had to share, but the city's official map is great, too!
The Lake Union Loop has been a long time coming and I am so glad to be able to find a great map online - wanted to share!  Here is a great link on the loop from the city, too.

Dana Landon writes a really entertaining Seattle blog filled with amazing fun fashion and food around Seattle - her latest post was on  the July 4th Vegan BBQ at Quickie's on Capitol Hill in Seattle. 
Some might not know I am a vegetarian, but I also grew up on meat and the idea of a BBQ without having to worry about the meat juice or smoke getting on my food sounds heavenly.

Or call it something else.... Whatever you call it, just ride it. The Trolley/ Streetcar that runs through South Lake Union has had some name controversy in the last year or so...

Let's look at one of my favorite Seattle neighborhoods (I guess I am partial because I met my husband while living thereJ):  Sunset Hill in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood.  Sunset Hill real estate deserves its own section in Seattle real estate in my book so let's look at the Sunset Hill numbers here:

AAAAH...Sunset Hill living... I lived in Sunset Hill many years ago and I can tell you that one of the highlights of living in this wonderful Ballard neighborhood was my trips to Rain City Video!  The Sunset Hill location is right on the corner of 65th and 32nd in the heart of "commercial" Sunset Hill. 
The movies were always organized in a way that made just about every one of them seem interesting and I was always able to find a great film.  I miss this movie rental place and haven't been able to easily find a movie since.

You may have heard: Greenwood is built on a bog.
Well, some of it is anyway. Most of it is not.
It is really important to know what this means if you are looking in this area to buy. Parts of Greenwood are built on a peat bog which relies on groundwater to stay intact. As water is diverted away from the ground through construction and drainage, the peat bog gets smaller and smaller - much like a sponge. As a result there have been some areas of Greenwood and other Seattle neighborhoods that have actually sunk.
