reflection: As Petals washed from clinging limbs.

To clench the failing grip on time, So tightly that tired fingers numb, The loosened grasp, the hold gives in As petals washed from clinging limbs! (R Weisser 2013) How often do we try to hold on to something far too long? Whether it is a possession, a belief or tenet, or even a way of doing business the natural tendency is to hold on to what we’ve got. Change is inevitable because time does not stand still. Whether we want to or not, tomorrow we will be older. But it’s up to us to devise if we will be wiser! (7 comments)

The days grow short and darkness loomsO’er what was once fresh buds and shootsNow petals loosed and drifting blindAre washed along the sluice of time. (R. Weisser 2011) As the last leaves succumb to the rake, it’s hard to believe that the holidays are already upon us. The transition from Fall to the holiday season is always an easy one. reflection: Sunday mornings are a time for quiet reflection and looking forward to the week ahead!

Sunday mornings are the calm before the storm. It's always a quiet time, as the world seems to pause for a few hours before religious services or weekend chores. It's a great time to both catch your breath and to get a grip on your plans for the upcoming week. And it's going to be a very interesting week. The NFL Conference Championship games on Sunday will determine which two teams go on to the Super Bowl. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, followed on Tuesday by the historic inauguration of our new president. Add to that some interesting twists (38 comments)
