sleep: I tried this thing called “sleep” last night and I must say that I enjoyed it!

I once read that the famous inventor, Thomas Alva Edison, never slept during the night. Instead his days were punctuated by intermittent catnaps as time allowed. I admire Mr. Edison very much, and I guess for some time I have tried to emulate his sleeping behavior! But last night I dozed off as usual, in my recliner with my computer on my lap. When I awoke, it was well after midnight so I decided to actually attempt getting some real sleep for a change. It was actually quite nice and very refreshing. sleep: When you are doing an “all-nighter,” it’s easy to lose track of time!

As I have mentioned several times lately, I have a lot on my plate right now. I am getting along all right, because I have been able to acquire “extra” time by avoiding sleep. As the clock nears 4:00 A.M. I begin to wonder: Is it really, really late right now, or am I past the point of no return and it’s now very early. These are the kinds of things that you think about after a significant amount of sleep deprivation. I am going to assume it’s early and start a pot of coffee. I have a long day ahead (43 comments)
sleep: The joy and benefits of NOT sleeping!

Think about this...not sleeping has its advantages! 1) You get an extra 6-8 hours a day to do anything you want! Than can be up to 56 hours a week or 248 hours a month. That's a over 10 full 24 hour days a month free just for not sleeping. 2) You can be catatonic or even comatose during the day without taking mind-numbing drugs or drinking yourself into oblivion. That translates to true cash savings! 3) You can drive long distances painlessly without any recollection of how you got where you currently are! Sort of like having your own chauffeur. 4) Food becomes important (22 comments)
