work schedules: Wrapping up the “short week” can be very trying even for those that work 24-7!

Even though real estate agents work seven days a week, many of the ancillary industries do not. Most mortgage companies, title companies, institutional sellers and other support services still work traditional nine-to-five forty hour work weeks. So when there is a holiday during the typical work week, it affects the way we schedule and perform our business. And when we get to the end of the week, we are often scrambling to get everything done that needs to be done. Our working lives are inherently intertwined and we must constantly adjust our schedules to accommodate not only customers, which is expected, (13 comments)
There was a time when a job consisted of a five eight hour days, Monday through Friday. But as our society has evolved, it seems that less and less workers face regular schedules each week. Of course, independent contractors set their own hours. And in today’s economy, that generally means working eighty or more hours in an attempt to get a forty hour paycheck! Then there are those that work for retailers and restaurants. Some are open twenty-four hours, seven days a week and worker’s schedules are adjusted weekly to meet the requirements of the employers.
