And so, just like previous years, <strong><a href="http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/sep/13/flumist-set-for-knox-county-schools/?partner=RSS" title="Knox County Set to Administer FluMist">Knox County is getting ready to administer the FluMist to school children</a>.</strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;"><img title="Knox County set to administer FluMist to school children" src="http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/6/4/6/2/9/ar13476236692646.JPG" height="286" alt="Nasal Inhalers" width="400" style="float: left; margin: 8px;">However, this year we have some snags, and the County Health Department is asking for help. In past years, the County Health Department got enough funding to cover the cost of the vaccine. This year, because some federal funding has ended, they don't have the funds to cover the vaccine.</span></p> <p> </p> <blockquote> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;">Parents are asked to provide insurance information on the consent forms. (Every Knox County child must have a consent form in order to be vaccinated at school.) The Knox County Health Department will handle the rest, said John Lott, KCHD director of clinical services, and parents won't be charged for anything.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;">The Health Department also has asked for donations to help it keep offering the program, which has been a model for other places in the country. It's partnered with Metropolitan Drug Commission, and the public can donate money at either organization's web site: <a href="http://www.knoxcounty.org/health">http://www.knoxcounty.org/health</a> or <a href="http://www.metrodrug.org/web/flumist">www.metrodrug.org/web/flumist</a>.</span></p> </blockquote> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;">Once again, parents can sign their child's (children's) consent form online (link provided in the quoted article), or they can scan the QR Code on the posters found at your child's school.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: medium;">If your child misses the vaccination at the school site, just stop by the Knox County Health Department for their free flu mist. The more children that get vaccinated, the less school they will miss. Only exceprt enough to make your point. No more. There is no specific number of words, lines, or notes that may safely be taken without permission.
