Yahoo! Local has quietly added a feature that allows users to upload photos to a local listing. For example, I could find my favorite pizzeria in Yahoo! Local and then can upload a photo that I took with my digital camera. People then can view slideshows for a local listing and I find the layout attractive. I have uploaded a few homes I have listed for sale to my local listing and so far haven't discovered any limitations as to the number of photos. … (2 comments)

If the customer has an experience that doesn't disappoint, they won't tell anybody.
If the customer has an experience that exceeds their expectations, they will tell one person.
If they have a disappointing experience, they will tell nine people.
From my experience, these are not absolutes but are good rules of thumb to keep in mind.

Long and short are stock market terms that refer to your position (the shares you own or owe) in a company. In brief, if you are long a company, it means you hold shares in a company and believe the shares are going to appreciate. "Short" is just the . You borrow shares to sell in the hope that the shares will decrease so you can purchase the shares you owe at a lower price. There is more but this short description should suffice for the rest of this post as I play the "Long or Short" game.

At Squidoo, I have created a site for RE/MAX Associates. If you haven't visited Squidoo lately, they have added a tool called a Plexo. I used this tool to create a Plexo called "RE/MAX Associates Favorite Links". Not only can anyone add their favorite links but you can rank the other links. Not surprisingly, my blog is currently #1 and my company site is #2. ; )

In my city of Alexandria, Minnesota, the City Council recently put a moratorium on digital billboards. There was concern in the community over a new billboard on a busy corner in Alexandria and whether it would be a distraction to drivers that might lead to an accident. Trulia released Heat Maps for major cities this past September but today released them for the entire nation. The maps help visualize property trends across over 3,000 counties.
While the real-time national Heat Maps do offer average listing prices, median sales prices and popularity across the country, a weakness is that the data used for these figures is not including all listings and sales. Only those that are fed to Trulia. Pretty cool eye candy.

Zillow's Real Estate Wiki has been posted about at Activerain but I couldn't find any posts (my apologies in advance if I missed someone's post) about the Real Estate Blog Directory within the Wiki. The directory is by state and city. After a quick scan I saw that many active Activerain bloggers weren't listed so I thought I'd add a post as I thought most would like to know about this directory.

According to the National Association of Realtors Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, seventy-three percent of buyers rated the Internet as very useful and ad additional 25 percent rated it as somewhat useful.
The report also found that home buyers in certain regions use the internet as a home buying resource more frequently than others. It was discovered that buyers in the Midwest and the Northeast used the internet more intensively than buyers in other regions.
