Evaporation, drought bringing lake level down – A few weeks back during the heat wave, a neighbor commented that the water level was steadily dropping and it was likely SCE G was pulling the plug in order to meet the rising electrical demand. The neighbor’s analysis was partly true. On July 26, the utility did pull the plug in response to a system failure. Summer fun is not over yet – The Town of Lexington’s 150th Anniversary Historical Sites Scavenger Hunt for children is now in session. A limited number of passports are still available that will allow children to take photos of Lexington’s treasured landmarks. Parents may pick up the passports at Town Hall Customer Service, 111 Maiden Lane or at the Columbia Regional Visitors Center, 1101 Lincoln St. in Columbia. The hunt will last until Sept. 2, 2011.
