2011 Louisiana Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
Louisiana Revised Statute 47:305.58 provides for an annual state sales tax holiday on sales of hurricane-preparedness items or supplies made on the last Saturday and Sunday of each May. During the two-day annual holiday, tax-free purchases are authorized on the first $1,500 of the sales price of each of the following items:
portable self-powered light source; portable self-powered radio, two-way radio, or weather band radio; tarpaulin or other flexible waterproof sheeting; any ground anchor system or tie-down kit; … (0 comments)

OK, I have to rant. 
Could all of the angry divorced or divorcing people out there put aside their immediate differences for a few minutes so that your ultimate goal to be rid of each other can be accomplished?  It is not the title company's fault your divorce attorney did not fully complete your settlement by transferring the property at hand to the other party.  No you will not have to "see" each other.  No I cannot give you any details of their transaction.  I really just need your autograph.

It is done, we are finished.  The East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity work day is over.  What a great day!  We pulled the forms from the foundation.  THAT was a challenge.  The home we worked on was a raised home so the foundation was not a continuous slab.  Those form boards were quite really hardto remove. 
Once that was done, we moved on to the cinder block pillars.  We mixed cement and poured it into the cinder block pillars that had rebar and straps in them.  What a wonderful laborious … (2 comments)

This week is the official Women's Build week for Habitat for Humanity in the Slidell area.
