Seems many home owners I work with have decks that need a little love and attention! Knowing the right products to use if often half the battle. Following is a great primer to help you choose the right products to reduce future maintenance!
Via Chris Livingston (Pillar To Post): Most stains are engineered to color and protect wood in a single coat and are available in oil-based, water-based, and water-based epoxy-fortified mixtures. Deck stain keeps new wood looking good and helps to refurbish old, weathered boards. Stain shouldn't be confused with deck sealer, though. What Paint Colors Should I Use When Selling? - 07/26/10 08:15 AM
Dear Creative Concepts: I’d appreciate some home staging advice. After watching some additional home improvement shows yesterday, I’m wondering if I am too bland in my approach to colors for the broader market? If the bathroom photos are omitted from the listing or look this photo, what is your impression of the home? Needs improvement? No updates done at this home in a L-O-N-G time? Wonder what else needs attention and updating in this house? (At least the toilet seat was down (8 comments)
Does My Beautiful Home Really Need Advice From a Home Stager? - 07/13/10 07:32 AM
Dear Home Staging Expert: My home is beautifully decorated and I receive many compliments on my style and taste in furnishing and decor. I'm preparing to sell in the near future and my real estate agent advised I hire a "home staging expert" to give me some advice. I can't imagine what benefit I would receive from this service. (I actually find it a bit insulting.) Please advise. Sincerely, Divine Design Diane
Dear Diane: Thanks for taking the time to ask this important question before dismissing your agent's recommendation. First and most importantly please keep this in mind: We (48 comments)
