volunteering: Give A Day - And Get A Night At a Swanky Hotel! - 08/21/09 12:00 PM

Need some incentive to put in some time at your favorite charity? How about a free night at a posh hotel?
Some 50 hotels across the country are giving away a free night to guests who prove that they completed at least eight hours of community service between July 1 and Dec. 20.
The hotels, managed by Sage Hospitality, include some locations of swanky hotels such as Sheratons, Courtyards, Marriots, and more.

volunteering: Make A Difference Day - Salem Oregon Opportunity to Volunteer-- October 25, 2008 - 10/05/08 04:40 PM

For nearly ten years Salem Interfaith Hospitality Network has been making a difference in Salem, Oregon by providing emergency shelter for families. They also help families solve life issues so they can become self sufficient and provide a stable environment for their children. The Day Center is used by families as their "home base", where they can do things we take for granted such as shower, do laundry, search for work or meet with the case manager. This "home" is in need of repairs, updating and cleaning.
