Insurers Combat IFRS - 09/29/10 06:08 PM
Canadian Insurers are asking the Canadian government and regulatory bodies to drive the accounting rules in their direction. In summary, insurance industry representatives wish an amendment of IFRS which Canada has already agreed to implement but wants to effect no sooner than 2013. The agreed notice to leave the property must be given to your tenants under the Tenant's Protection Act, so the answer is 'no', you can't just evict them. A further point to consider is that if a tenant does not wish to leave, then they don't have to; therefore in these circumstances you should consult somebody qualified in this area.
