I went to the Big E (Eastern States Exposition) in Springfield yesterday with my family.  It was an incredibly beautiful day - yet there was no back-up of traffic and no huge lines. 

I was thrilled not to be inconvenienced by long lines, because I hate crowds.  But it was disconcerting to realize just how much gasoline prices and the state of our economy is affecting the fun things we get to do in life! 

I do have to admit, that normally when I go to the Big E - I spend a silly amount of money on the latest "must-have" gadget.  This year, however - I only spent money on the food I ate!  The Maine baked potato and something disgustingly sweet...  : (  No new gadgets for me!

Well, I guess it's time for everyone to hunker down and ride out this out.  However, I refuse to give up my date night with my husband - that - as far as I'm concerned - is money well-spent as an investment in my marriage.
