It is now obvious to all observers that the global economy is declining, primarily led by credit problems in the United States. Banks and lending institutions around the world are seeking recapitalization; commodity and land values are declining; and investors are desperately searching for safe assets. Can assets in Costa Rica provide protection? Clearly, the real estate market in Costa Rica has slowed from the days of wild speculation and easy capital.
