Last Friday I received a call from a company founded by former real estate agents and/or a mortgage broker offering leads, coaching, a website and boosted web-presence for a fairly hefty monthly subscription fee. Yesterday I received two more phone calls from two different companies making similar promises and claims. I have gotten similar phone calls in the past, most promising me the opportunity to be the EXCLUSIVE agent for my county or zip code or region or how ever they divide it.
My question is this: Do websites like this really work? Who is living up to their promises? And why do the fees vary so much company to company? What's the difference? Just some of the companies I have either heard of or been contacted by include: realty bargains, US HUD (or a state-by-state version of it), get my homes value, house values and just listed - all with a dot com ending.
I'd love to hear from some of you regarding your experiences. I have done some research and the reviews can be scathing. On the other hand, there are agents out there making lots of money primarily from these leads and they are quick to defend their subscriptions. Out there in that great big web it's hard to know which sources are credible. I'm interested in input from other AR members in a little more controlled forum.
Thanks! I'm anxious to hear what you have to say.
