downtown fullerton real estate: Happy New Year! Good Bye 2011, Hello 2012! Fullerton Realtor 30 Day Challenge - 01/03/12 10:29 AM
Happy New Year!  Wow, the time sure flew.  As I look back, I am happy and also a little guilty in saying that 2011 was a good year for me. Guilty because I feel bad that so many friends were eager to see it over.
I have so much to be thankful for and though there were some rough spots in 2011, especially for some dear friends, I really can't complain.  I helped so many folks realize the dream of home ownership, while helping others sell homes to move on to the next chapter of their lives.
Late 2009, I brought … (2 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Please Be Gentle; It's My First Time! Fullerton Real Estate - 05/17/11 12:11 PM
First timers - I love them! They are excited and starry eyed....about buying their first home. I work with so many first time buyers and last week when I started receiving more email inquiries than usual, I figured it would be a good idea to put a little "Where to Start" article together.
The first place you should start is by talking to a lender (you thought I was going to say Realtor® didn't you?). You really need to find out what your buying power is. Most first timers are a little shocked when they look at all the numbers, the … (1 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: A Wild Rate Ride! When Rates Increase; Affordability Decreases Even if Prices Go Down! Fullerton Real Estate - 12/22/10 11:25 AM
"I think prices will fall so I am in no hurry to buy". Have you heard this before? Maybe you have even echoed this sentiment.  It's common these days and really, there is nothing wrong with this line of thinking.
But let's think for a moment about affordability vs. price. Home ownership has been at the highest level of affordability in decades.  Rates have been the lowest ever. So is it to better to buy when rates are low or when prices are? It depends but waiting can sometimes be costly.
Interest rates have taken a jump in the past couple … (2 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Fullerton Real Estate - So Why do I need to Qualify with the Seller's Bank Too? - 11/04/10 09:59 PM
If you are a buyer that has made an offer to purchase a bank owned home (also known as an REO) chances are you have asked yourself that exact question.
As a potential home buyer, you are already pre-approved with your own lender (at least I hope you are)who has patiently explained to you the programs, options, rates and the entire loan process.  I mean it was tough enough to go get him/her everything she needed in the first place. Your head is spinning, you are swimming in a sea of numbers, payments and costs all after giving up your most personal information, the information that you … (8 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Fullerton Real Estate, HOMEOWNERS BEWARE: Foreclosure Rescue Scams! - 10/19/10 08:56 PM
In writing this blog I noticed that though I haven't written much lately, the little I have written is about SCAMS!  I get calls from people often after it is too late.  It is bad enough that folks are forced with the potential loss of their home but now we have to worry about stinking scammers too!!!???  It makes me so mad!
With the recent rise in foreclosures, foreclosure-related scams have exploded onto the real estate scene. These so-called "foreclosure rescue companies" claim they will help save your home, but in reality are out to make a profit -- at your … (3 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: What's Up Around Downtown - Fullerton That Is! Downtown Fullerton Real Estate, People are After It! - 04/21/10 12:11 AM
Downtown Fullerton - We love it!It is a great place to eat, hang out, shop and to live! If I had a nickel for every person that told me they wanted a cute little Craftsman or Spanish home in or near downtown....Ok, maybe if I had a dollar for every time, I would have a few hundred bucks at least!
Is it the nostalgia of bygone years? Is it the close proximity to everything that is happening? Is it the great mix of homes and people? Whatever it is; people want it!
Unfortunately right now these homes are not easy to … (0 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Fullerton Real Estate - October 2009 Sales Stats for Fullerton - Not Much Has Changed! - 11/24/09 06:05 PM
I know, I know, I sound like a broken record when it comes to talking about in ventory in Fullerton (or anywhere else in Orange County for that matter).  Fullerton Real Estate is still hot!  People want to live here and the inventory continues to be very low.  Just check out the chart below outlining the inventory and sales in Fullerton.

Also, just like last month, the $500,000 and less price range is still on fire.  Read more at CristalDrake.com

downtown fullerton real estate: Fullerton Real Estate - Adventures In Door Knocking.... - 09/07/09 04:11 PM
You have probably heard me talk about how tough it is for first time buyers to realize the dream of home ownership with a little piece of Fullerton Real Estate of their own.  I have lots of buyers and with up to 30 offers (or more) coming in on starter homes in Fullerton (and all North Orange County for that matter) it is getting increasing difficult. So, I decided that I needed to get more aggressive for my buyers!
Dreading it or not, I figured I better start knocking on some doors and talk to the folks in the Downtown Fullerton … (8 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Another Happy Home BUYER.....ME!!!!!!!! - 07/30/08 07:57 PM
Wow, what a whirl wind!  My husband and I decided to sell our house last July.  Lucky for us we were able to list, sell and close by September and still made it out in pretty good shape.
We decided to rent for a year to figure out our next step.  We started really looking again back in March.  We quickly noticed that in Fullerton, the good houses, priced right still SOLD quickly.  We (like many buyers I have) started feeling the frustration of not finding a home.
On July 3rd, a new listing came up in a neighborhood that I have always … (18 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Some of My Best Practices; They're Really Pretty Simple - 07/17/08 12:43 PM
In the past couple of days, I have two friends of mine (both are in lending) ask me about some of my best practices.  It was funny because I never really thought about it.  I rambled off a few things that I do an my basic concept of how to do good business.
Then I really started thinking about it and this is what came to me:
Come From Contribution - So many people are just asking for business.  But what have you done to earn it?  I try to give every chance I get.  I give people tips or ideas, … (17 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: A Run On the Bank - This Isn't Beford Falls! - 07/15/08 12:12 PM
I was working for a mortgage lender when the subprime mess originally started rearing it's ugly head.  First was Ameriquest.  It came to light that there was an aweful lot of alleged fraud going on and the rumor was that they actually had a "cut and paste" room where they would forge signatures on documents (I am not stating this as fact but merely and industry rumor that was pretty wide spread).
There were others and then the big turn was when New Century went - This is where I knew it was bad.  Since then, just about all the subprime companies have … (5 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Save Money & Look Great - American Vintage Comes to Downtown Fullerton - 07/14/08 11:28 PM
To my surprise, a new vintage store came to town.  I have to check out everything new in Downtown Fullerton and this new store was no exception.
The store is immaculate and is set up more like and upscale boutique than a Vintage clothing store.  But if you want some high quality clothes that you won't see someone else walking down the street in, then this is your place!  I picked up a vintage cashmere sweater for eighteen bucks!  I know it is summer but I will be so happy when I pull this baby out in the fall!  You would … (3 comments)

downtown fullerton real estate: Getting in The Loop! Map of The Fullerton Loop Trail Systems - 07/06/08 07:39 PM
Recently I wrote a blog about how much I love walking my dog on the Fullerton Loop.  The loop is a series of trails that winds through a good majority of Fullerton.  Though a lot of people have heard of it, many people have asked me how and where to get on the loop!  It can be a little confusing but here is a rough map of the major trails that comprise the loop.
One of the main entrances is behind the Fullerton Court House on Vally View and Harbor, just north of Downtown.  There is plenty of parking at the … (3 comments)
