Everywhere I go in Fullerton, or in Orange County for that fact, there is one thing that every homeowner knows...what their house was ONCE WORTH; and it was ONCE worth much more!
No one is happy about the loss in their home's value but there might be slight silver lining, lower property taxes! If you have received your property tax notice and disagree with the value, you can file an application for changed assessment (assessment appeal) with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. If you want to get a Realtor(r) going...just start a conversation about horrible conditions we endure when showing bank owned properties. We have been through it all from dealing with cement in toilets to horrible pet urin stench to people squatting in the home to family pets left behind to starve...just to name a few.

It's a constant struggle...get up, out of bed and do something good for myself! It seems to go in spurts. I can get up and get out and get some great cardio...then, it rains, or it's freezing or my running companion, Katie Dog, has to have surgery so I get lazy.

I closed escrow on a home of my own about six weeks ago. Since then my husband had been feverishly working to get the house ready for us to move into. He had contractors in and out of that place and did a lot of the work himself!

Buyers and sellers have heard the term "Short Sale" but quite often, they aren't really sure what it means. Here is the definition per my Real Estate Dictionary (8th Edition):
Short Sale - A sale of a property which includes some forgiveness of debt by the lender under a mortgage or trust deed. The amount of a debt forgiven may be considered income to the seller and taxable.
So what does that really mean? Basically, a short sale is where the bank agrees to take less than is owed on a home when it is sold.
