The Wylie Police Department is holding two great community services:
Wylie Police Department Bicycle Rodeo
9am to Noon at the Wylie First Baptist Church located at 100 North 1st Street.
Plano Cycling and Fitness will conduct bicycle safety inspections and Wylie Officers will answer questions and educate riders on bicycle safety.
An obstacle course will be set up for tips on navigation and safety. Talking about safety... helmets will be available while supplies last.

I just received another informative email from the Wylie ISD stating the Texas Department of Health Services has a new immunization schedule for the 2010-2011 school year.

The Back to School Fair is an annual event that gives away backpacks filled with school supplies to students that are facing economic hardships. Many families are still struggling to put food on the table much less the added burden of purchasing school supplies for the upcoming school year.
With the help of local churches and organizations such as FBC, the Lions Club, Wylie Women's League, the Mason's, WUMC, and more, the goal is to fill 1,000 backpacks this year.

This freeze is not automatic and senior citizens must request the status to qualify.
