The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair is in full swing, and Cindy Stys Equestrian & Country Properties is in attendance! The Dressage Festival of Champions in Gladstone, NJ is always an exciting event, but this year’s show has the special distinction of also serving as the selection trials for the 2012 Olympic Dressage Team. Grand Prix riders will vie not only for a national championship, but also for the chance to represent the United States in London this summer. This is the first time since 2000 that Olympic selection trials have been held at Gladstone, and the show will surely be an event to remember! PA governor Tom Corbett plans to take $72 million from the Race Horse Development Fund every year for the next 3 years. This action poses a serious threat to not only the racing industry, but to the equine industry as a whole all across Pennsylvania. Trainers, jockeys, veterinarians, grooms, feed manufacturers, breeders, and other support personnel stand to lose their jobs if the governor goes through with his plan.

Brandywine Valley Summer Series Will Showcase Top PA Hunter/Jumpers - 05/01/12 09:44 AM
 
This summer, after the fair has long gone, the Devon Showgrounds will be bustling once again when the Brandywine Valley Summer Show Series kicks off on June 27th. This series of two AA horse shows will benefit the Chester County Food Bank and the Abby Miller Foundation. The shows will feature both International and National Hunter Derby classes, Junior/AO Classics, Small Hunters, Grooms Classes, and Leadline, as well as many other hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. The shows will run from June 27-July 1, and from July 4-July 8, with a day of local competition being held on July 9.
