Its The Dogs Days of the Summer...Shouldn't You Be On The Water?

    Summer's hottest days are now upon us.  If being near the water is your thing, then there has never been a better time to visit your favorite bay. 
    Now is the perfect chance to take that long weekend you deserve and head down to our part of the coast.  There is still some great fishing left to be done!  To prove it, over 150 Redfish Fisherman took to the waters of Lavaca Bay.  The "Redfish Series" part of the famous TX Saltwater Series came to Port Lavaca on Saturday, August 8th.  It was an exciting, fun filled day of great food and even better fishing stories.  Weigh-in began at 12 Noon with a majority of the fisherman catching the minimum number of fish.  The winning team was from Edna with a combined weight of 14.88 lbs.  They had to catch 2 fish under 28"

     If fishing is not your cup of tea then there are plenty of other events to keep you occupied while everyone else is out on the bay.  The first annual flip flop festival takes place the first Saturday in September.  Also, just a 20 minute drive from Port Lavaca is Lake Texana State Park.  The Park has activities happening every weekend for the entire family.  Lastly, don't forget to wrap up the weekend at Sunday Beach over near Port O'Conner!
