I love reading old blog posts. Sometimes you run across something about one of your friends and it gives you a new perspective about what you've always suspected was true but didn't quite figure out how to articulate it. In my case, I said an awful lot, then discovered someone who said it better years before I was hipped to the ballistics (LOL).
Do you read Michell Hall? If you don't, you should. I certainly need to hang out on his blog more often. BTW, he has a very cool Manhattan website if you're looking for new digs in NYNY. … (7 comments)

This Is Fascinating... Wonder Where It Will Go... - 05/31/09 09:08 PM

The Thomas Moore Law Center is always a good read. AIG is the pink elephant in the room for a lot of people. The cartoons in my head are having a field day with this lawsuit. Make sure you click the links and read everything you can on this subject. It affects us all. I certainly was not disappointed and can't wait for the next round of documents to be made available regarding this event. I bet if you think about it long enough you'll find lots of interesting points that will make you go hmm... ;-)

An Incredible Brunch At Norma's (The Wordy C Margaret Rome Interview) - 05/31/09 05:32 AM

When social media divas take time out of their busy schedules to share several of their business secrets one should never squander the rare moment that is the gift of shared time. Trendsetters, movers and shakers are fascinating people. You never know what nuggets of wisdom you're going to receive from them. On the flip side, you may find yourself in the position to help them out on a project when you least expect it simply because they need something that you do. You may not know how important your past life's work is, or a hobby you love, until … (64 comments)

Finnigan's Wake
REBar Camp
Ad hoc can be a good thing. It was a pleasure to see so many of the people living in my computer in the same room enjoying the lovely spread and playing Pass the Nikon. It was my first REBar Camp and I am glad I participated in PA. I have a lot of family there and Susan Mangigian is always a lovely person to visit. I am going to enjoy studying for my broker's exam hanging out with my PA bay-bays. They know how to have mad … (25 comments)

From May 16th until May 31 the Big Apple Circus will be performing in Queens County, NY. The little minions had a blast with Mike and I. I haven't been to the circus in a long time and it was quite a treat. If you can't make the dates, their next gig will be close by. The show will be migrating to Long Island from June 5th to July 5th. That should give you plenty of time to take the kids (or borrow a few if you think you need … (15 comments)

Remember This Memorial Day That Freedom Is Not Free - 05/26/09 11:44 AM
Richard was kind enough to make this available for a re-blog. Enjoy! :-)

Via Richard Iarossi, Crofton MD Real Estate, Annapolis MD Real Estate (Long and Foster® Real Estate, Inc.):
Many towns in America have constructed memorials to those residents who have given their lives in service to their country. On Memorial Weekend there are parades and ceremonies, some well attended, some not so. Take a moment today to think about all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy our freedom.
Living in Crofton, MD, I'm less than an hour away from Washington, DC, and many of … (8 comments)

The Big Apple Circus Rocked! :-) - 05/26/09 07:03 AM
Took the shorties to see the Big Apple Circus. Had a Spanking-A time. We Bar-B-Qued in the park with our neighbors afterward. When I come back from dropping the kids at school and torturing myself in the gym I shall post some pictures. It was hard taking shots in the dark with kids running amuck everywhere. The wee people did not want to stay in their seats and we started watching kids row by row, then section by section (LOL).
Pretty soon groups of parents started arranging themselves on the row ends while the kids climbed over seats and raced up … (9 comments)

Active, Passive and Portfolio Income (Planning For Your Future) - 05/23/09 10:29 AM
My last post generated an interesting series of questions I figured I'd answer in public rather by e-mail: (1) Always hire a tax professional to deal with tax questions. (2) Realtors do not give tax advice. (3) Realtors talk in "generalities" because it keeps us out of trouble. (4) My blog is entertaining to me. You are just along for the Wordy C ride. Sometimes you learn something interesting. Sometimes you don't. It's up to the individual to stick around or leave. I hope you stick around. If not, I forgive you. Disclaimers done (LMAO). ;-)

Freaking Over Invoices... Group Features Un-featuring... Wanna Update, eh? - 05/23/09 09:28 AM
Am I the only one noticing my group features wont stay featured? Every time someone edits a post featured in groups it automatically un-features. I've been popping the same two back up on the highlight board since 6AM (LOL). I'm trying to read and serial comment but I have to keep checking back to make sure the lineup is progressing. Who knows what I'll get by the time I finish my inspection and walk through today. This should be interesting. :-)
I got a Fannie Mae "update your post" request in my e-mail. Very cool. Haven't harped on them since January. … (3 comments)

Here's a picture of the Quiet Man's Club where the bloggers will be hanging out. Very cool bit of old world graphics. I think I want to go just for the eye candy and giggles. How can there not be giggles? Mangiggly the I-talian is in PA with a host of other stellar bloggers. I'm … (9 comments)

Here's the link to a follow-up of a really cool post you guys may find very useful. I am a stat rat. You might not think so because I have this aversion to posting market reports (LMAO). I've been threatening to do another one for a while now, but I have to make sure I don't bore Bob Stewart (LOL). I've been cooking up something special for him. Got some new graphics software... yay! I am sooo upping my game for the AR Cartoon Network. I may have to go vacation in PA at my Uncle William's so I can get some playful … (4 comments)

Should Religion/ Faith Be In The Workplace? - 05/21/09 03:52 PM
Loreena was kind enough to make this post available for a re-blog. Enjoy! :-)

Via Loreena Yeo - Broker|Realtor(R) of Frisco TX Homes For Sale (3:16 team REALTY):
I know there would be a never-ending debate to this topic: Should we ever bring religion and faith into your business?
I feel deeply about this topic off and on, so I want to share some of my personal thoughts in this subject matter. See if you agree with me. And if you don't, that's perfectly fine too. What I do not want are heated arguments and slandering. I cannot and will not … (8 comments)

I sent his excellent link by Elizabeth Weintraub to my buddy house hunting with me. I thought it was pretty cool. It may help a few people save getting their feelings hurt if a REO Agent doesn't call them back to answer their questions. It made me smile after my dumb dumb episode with my girlfriend in Central Islip (LOL). Enjoy!  ;-)

Is NAR Falling Behind On Technological Issues? What Did I Miss? Fill Me In... - 05/19/09 01:37 PM
http://agentgenius.com/real-estate-law-marketing/nar-code-of-ethics-rules-for-social-media-realtors-and-associations/
Be careful of the Internet Speech Police. Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade without stubbing your toe on one. I love the reminder that we should be telling the truth on our blog posts. We should. What I'm curious about is how far is NAR willing to go when people say something that is true but some other competitor doesn't like. We already have libel, slander and defamation laws. Be careful when you want to impose too much of your association free speech rules on individual people. They may stake out Constitutional challenges because they view it … (6 comments)

Interesting Kindle Topic - 05/19/09 08:53 AM
http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=4349&tag=nl.e550
This quote got me thinking about my ADA clients and my learning disabled kids:
"We know that there exists a kill-switch for the text-to-speech feature that allows publishers to disable the feature for specific titles. While this feature protects the publisher’s ability to control how content is distributed, it sucks for people who really wanted this feature. If there’s one kill-switch, it’s likely that Amazon, and publishers, have other kill-switches at their disposal. Personally, I’d be uncomfortable with so many players having the ability to remotely tinker with my Kindle."
I was actually considering getting one for the boys to … (8 comments)

To Chrome Or Not To Chrome... - 05/19/09 06:55 AM
Hubby updated his computer. That's what I get for not sitting at my desk (LOL). I was working on what I thought was a draft (yes, I'm spoiled, I'm getting used to the auto-save feature in ActiveRain) except Chrome started showing error messages while I was writing. So I figured let me save my draft. Guess what? It took me to a search page of my blog so I can click a link instead of showing me my draft.
What the heck was Google thinking? I do not need "fastwebsearch" while I am writing a blog post. I need my AR … (8 comments)

There is a Bible story in the Old Testament that never fails to amaze me, no matter how many times I read it.It's the account of Esau selling his birthright to his brother Jacob for a bowl of soup (Genesis 25:19-34).To understand the full weight of this story, you really need to understand the extreme value and importance the Jewish people ascribed to the firstborn son. It was a position … (11 comments)

Forever Stamps... A Message From Granny Tann - 05/09/09 06:22 AM
http://www.usps.com/prices/pricechanges.htm
USPS: "On May 11 the price for a 1-ounce First-Class Mail stamp will increase from 42¢ to 44¢. Prices for other mailing services — Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services (including Parcel Post), and Extra Services — will also change. The average increase by class of mail is at or below the rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index."
What does this mean? It means I don't want flowers, I want stamps. Forever Stamps. With flower designs if you're gonna insist about the flower part. Oh... wait... they only have the Liberty Bell on 'em. Bummer... (LOL)

Three Things You May Eventually Need To Know... - 05/03/09 05:35 PM
The Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA)
The US Federal Trademark Dilution Act
The Uniform Domain Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP)
With all of the cyber-squatting and Twitter purchase name bickering going on, I figured I would share three interesting points of order. Rather than give you my take on the subject with a bit of sum and substance writing, I'm sending you straight to the sources that I think say what needs to be said very well. Of course, feel free to Google your own versions, but at least you now know what to Google. Yo - just sayin... (LOL) … (8 comments)

Chris Elizabeth Griffith is da Twitter bomb diggety! She's fun in Active Rain as well, especially when it comes to "Members Only" posts! Have you read her blog lately? Stumble across a pithy comment? You should go subscribe to my girlfriend. She knows her stuff and you can't go wrong with a buyer's broker who happens to be a stellar listing agent as well.
