Adventures in Destruction: One PHP5 Headache and Four Warnings Later...
Our ActiveRain "export blogs" plug-in used to work flawlessly as a XML zip download but now the latest update of WordPress states "parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not found" and "Invalid argument supplied for foreach()" in/on line 121 plus line 119 is just being a being a "simplexml_load_file()" we don't like your three symbols bitch...
I have nine website pages with none of my content embedded because the framework to house the content is done but the ActiveRain zip file and/or plug-in for Wordpress is having issues and … (5 comments)

Are you guys adding a HTTPS login or did I just do something mad stupid? (LOL)
It's a holiday weekend so the last thing I expected was having to make an "Add Exception" just to log into my blog. I noticed the URL had an "https" prefix after I clicked the log on link. I will confess to not previously paying attention to that little detail. Feeling adventurous, I decided to ignore the "Get me out of here" security option so I could log on and lurk in my digital home to fool around visiting with some of my fave … (2 comments)

Well... I certainly learned something new today about the tractor-trailer rule... - 05/27/11 11:06 AM

Did you know that parking tickets are now being issued for parking tractor-trailers on New York City residential streets between 9 PM and 5 AM? "The initial fine is $265, but any additional tickets issued to the same owner within a six-month period are $515 each. You are required to respond to a parking ticket within 30 days of the date the ticket was issued; otherwise penalties will be added to the original fine. After 30 days Finance sends a notice for any unpaid parking violation. If you receive a notice and you believe you have already paid that ticket, … (5 comments)

My FB peep Deidre Leggett started a new blog today - http://singlepurgatory.blogspot.com
It's no secret that I have been having fun hanging out on the Kim Harrison Facebook page. That is where I met my FB peep Deidre Leggett. We both love her books, enjoy social media chatting and are waiting for the next sneak peek / tease Kim serves up for her adoring fans.
Yes. I am an adoring fan in case you missed that little detail. I have EVERY book (even the Dawn C stuff - LOL).
Somewhere between advice on how to channel your inner Rache and … (2 comments)

If you were in Cinci Ohio which Skyline Chili item would you pick as a starter? - 05/25/11 05:24 PM

If you were in Cinci Ohio which Skyline Chili item would you pick as a starter?
I had this really brief social media conversation with a very nice lady named Valerie Adkins McDaniel on the Kim Harrison Facebook page about where to eat when I get to Ohio for my photo-shoot. I didn't realize a reference in Kim's books was an actual well known place because I've been wandering the east coast and not traveling inland.
It appears I need to get out of New York City more often, eh?
While I am poking around looking for things to do … (2 comments)

A Q&A on Facebook - Are you ready for this new bit of irritation? - 05/24/11 08:47 PM

I quote:
"What happens to my old group when it gets archived? When your old group gets archived, it will be converted to the new groups format. Almost everything from your old group will be available in the archived group, with a few exceptions. Things that will be available in the archived version include: Group photos and Wall posts Group discussion threads, which become Wall posts The group description, which can be found at the top of the page when you click "See All" members in the new group."
Things that will NOT be available in the archived version include: … (18 comments)

From Pier 6 to the Brooklyn Bridge - 05/24/11 07:06 PM

From Pier 6 to the Brooklyn Bridge
We're scouting film locations so today's jog was from Pier 6 to the Brooklyn Bridge with lots of stops in between to take photographs.
Why don't you see any? It's because I am in bad gateway hell right now. I have 40 really nice pictures but the only thing loading right now is the header... It would have been nice to post live from the Brooklyn Bridge but I gotta hit the highway because I'm going back to Far Rockaway to have dinner with Emmy. We're going Nigerian today. Will have yummy shots … (4 comments)

On the hunt for a book cover in Far Rockaway - 05/24/11 01:44 PM

On the hunt for a book cover in Far Rockaway
Today's jog and blog adventure takes place in Far Rockaway (The Other End) where I am on the hunt for a decent book cover. I shall spend the day stalking sea shells and waves, amusing myself with the surf and editing a few more chapters before high-jacking a couple of my gal pals for God only knows what later on (LOL).
I was up all night painting and chatting on Facebook and could use some brick and mortar company today. I may go into Manhattan later because I'm thinking of … (2 comments)

Sitting on the futon cracking up over PT's "How to date your co-worker" post
I have soooooo much fun lurking on that blog. Seriously (LOL) :-D
If you haven't read Penelope Trunk's "How To Date Your Co-woker," do click the link and settle in for some very unique perspectives regarding employees who sleep under the same roof where the home office is located (LOL).
No spoilers here.
You have to go over there.
Don't hesitate. GO. Now (you will not be disappointed - LOL). It will make you want to friend Melissa in Facebook just to see the rest of … (0 comments)

Interesting is me having to pull a post down three times to re-embed graphics
I do not like when my graphics disappear. Are you guys fixing something again? Inquiring minds want to know. Seriously (LOL). You announced that the header issue was resolved but ClubChaosAgents.com will not upload the header to the team blog. It stays for a little while then disappears and refuses to come back. Why? Something somewhere is still broken.
It's been missing for months now... That's why I got bent out of shape a minute ago when Pale Demon disappeared from my html embed on my previous … (8 comments)

How To Monetize Your Blog 101 - Lesson 12 - Electronic Press Kits
My musical gal pal Alicia Anderson Brown wrote an inspirational book and published it on Lulu.com but now being an author has her all discombobulated (LOL).
Ever start a side hustle only to discover in dismay that the business endeavor leaves you bewildered, befuddled, frustrated and flustered? Sometimes new authors get so excited about writing their books that they don't think about the ramifications of publishing that puppy.
One ramification one must never neglect is audience participation because consumers have expectations... especially if they become fans of … (1 comments)

Life With Wee People: Perfect attendance, gators and ceramics...
Fun is watching your kids turn into beach bums, get mommy braggin' rights for perfect attendance and be amazed at discovering the fact that your 9 year old likes creating custom wee people ceramics. Noah the Net Geek did an impressive job at school. I'm glad the shorties love their classes and we're looking forward to seeing what the little minions do during summer school. :-)

Life With Wee People: Got Milk? - 05/21/11 02:22 AM

Life With Wee People: Got Milk
Stephen, the Minion Blur has a fascinating habit of leaving his DNA everywhere (LOL). My 5 year old guy pie has just passed the manly ritual of raiding the fridge to drink from the milk jug. Since shorty is graduating from Pre-K next week I'm not gonna mess with him about it this time... After all, he saw daddy do it first. ;-)

How To Monetize Your Blog 101 - Lesson 11 - Purchasing ISBN Numbers in the USA
If you don't have a MyIdentifiers.com account you should consider getting one if you plan on publishing under your own imprint. If you are publishing under the imprint of another entity they will usually get the ISBN number for you. The shorties and I are fond of our Wordy C logo and have new business cards in progress for our start up. There's tee shirts and mugs coming too because we like those, but I digress... ;-)
If you click the above MyIdentifiers … (7 comments)

How To Monetize Your Blog 101 - Lesson 10 - Do Not Neglect Your Graphics and Copyrights
One of the fun things about being a Paralegal is all the legal research I get to do while studying subjects. I get to create really cool handouts to turn into power point presentations, CDs, DVDs, PDFs, investigative reports and periodically e-mail digital films (and just about anything else I can imagine to get my point of view across).
Visuals help people embrace your ideas by inspiring them to take a leap of faith from the intangible to the tangible based upon the … (2 comments)

How To Monetize Your Blog 101 - Lesson 09 - Google it before you Guru it...
Yeah, I actually do have handouts (with lots of interesting chapters too - LOL).
There are twelve in the 101 series and I got such a wild response today I decided to chat about a few of my Starbucks/Subway free seminar talking points because it's been a while since I did a little on-line techno-babble. I'm overdue. Last time we chatted (not counting my recent Droid rant earlier today) was on the 11th about finding a home for a chocolate lab. :-)

Dear Facebook, why the hell can't I edit my FB contacts on my Droid? - 05/18/11 12:46 PM

Dear Facebook, why the hell can't I edit my FB contacts on my Droid?
I can't possibly be the only person asking this question. How dare you not have customer service??? You are data mining the personal and business information of over half a billion people, monitoring their private/public relationships and you don't have a dedicated customer service? WTF is up with that?
I've been clicking Facebook links for hours looking for someone to call. This makes no sense. What is the point of people importing their Facebook contacts if the apps can't allow them to be edited to update … (0 comments)

Hi! My name is Myles. I need a home. Will you adopt me? - 05/11/11 01:49 PM

Hi! My name is Myles. I need a home. Will you adopt me?
I'm sitting here in tears because I remember the death of my dog. It's like suffering through the death of a child. I know this because I have suffered through that...
If you value life, loyalty and unconditional love then you understand the void in your heart when it's taken away from you. Love is complicated...
I love dogs and was very sad to find out from my fave grasshopper eating gal pal Emelia that her cousin Tamela, my gal pal from High School, has to … (12 comments)

Why do I like PT? She's a fascinating read...
I need to answer some e-mail generated from this post.
If I don't un-flip my b*tch switch soon my sparkling aura of creativity is going to fizzle and die before I finish composing my next iTune... I am trying to do a YouTube over here so I'll make this mini-rant quick.
Point #1: There is a reason why I don't take anonymous comments on my blog any more. I FRIGGIN' HATE COMMENT SPAM. It's not because I want to limit criticism or discourse, I'm simply tired of the endless links … (7 comments)

Club Chaos Eye Candy: Briarwood, Queens County, New York Tour of Homes
It's a gorgeous day to play and I've been having mad fun running the streets with my Nikon and Droid collecting eye candy during my turtle run. Sometimes I hang out with my elderly neighbors at Hoover Park when I do my warm ups. We shared ruby red grapefruits (3 for $2 at the neighborhood fruit stand) and bottled water. I love living in this neighborhood. The Zagat rated restaurants are simply amazing, the houses gorgeous and list of things to do with the wee people pretty … (12 comments)

Going to sketch co-ops and condos... Might even paint a duck or two :-)
The cool thing about running through the co-ops and condos are their stairs. It's like having a StairMaster in the sunshine with a view (LOL). I love the views adjacent to Flushing Meadows Park and usually spend my cool down strolling home oogling real estate.
My neighbor is going to drive me to the park so I can get my jog on and walk back to Briarwood. Will show you a tour of homes for lunch and the rest of my eye candy from yesterday (circling … (4 comments)

To The Girl With No Name Who Knows How I Like My Green Tea...

I remember reading an interesting quote from my gal pal Jackie on her fitness blog that stated, "Most of the time, the barrier between “you” and “you getting what you want” is YOU." It made me think of the anonymous quote, "Determination, patience and courage are the only things needed to improve any situation."
To change yourself is scary. It will take a tremendous amount of determination, patience and courage because real change more often than not means you are going to take yourself out … (6 comments)

Diary of a Google Whore: I really do enjoy the insanity of my life. Seriously...

My kids and hubby expect me to swim. No "ifs, ands, or buts" about it. They are tired of me only getting my feet wet and/or stating "you go" so I can have the FL house to myself for a couple of kid-less hours, reveling in the quiet of a "no men mucking about to distract me" zone. In case you didn't know I am out-numbered three to one which makes being a quirky girl on PMS with a b*tch switch very interesting for … (10 comments)

I am an Android idiot...
I really-really-really am. I don't know how to use my new upgraded phone and have been blipping music to Twitter and Facebook while trying to figure it out. Why the hell doesn't menu say menu? It took me all day to figure out I had to slide the little green icon to the right to answer my phone (LOL).
Psssst... That's only because my Facebook peep told me (LMAO). ;-)
Back to work. Gotta book chapter to finish and am going to have dinner at the neighbors' later. Still writing like a lunatic... Will be painting … (19 comments)
