flushing: Just Because You Asked... - 02/18/09 07:05 PM
TannStarr.com ClubChaosAgents.com Carolyn Tann-Starr It appears my miniature photographs at this link were not what a few of you were expecting. Here's a more detailed shot. Can you see it now? (LOL) Just teasing. :-) I keep thinking I should do a small coffee book on this. I have a lot of nice photographs of Shea Stadium. Okay, maybe a couple of hundred (LOL). It's bittersweet to see this coming apart tier by tier and I've certainly spoken a lot on the subject at hand. I feel as if I am losing a good friend. I

flushing: Club Chaos Eye Candy: Flushing, Queens County, NY Tour of Homes (Vol 7) - 10/16/08 08:20 AM
"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." Mother Teresa Elizabeth Nieves, the founder of Activist Rain selected that quote as part of her group's description. It is about "one thing... and one thing only: recognizing that ONE PERSON can change the world one simple act of kindness of and love at a time." Jason Crouch introduced me to Elizabeth's blog. Paddy Pizappi invited me to join her group. After reading the posts published there I found myself wondering what act of kindness I was going to perform today. When you are being spontaneous it is so

flushing: Club Chaos Eye Candy: Shea Stadium and Citi Field - 10/14/08 07:17 PM
Citi Field and Shea Stadium have a statistical comparison chart that you can read here at the New York Mets official website. Citi Field is due to open in April of 2009 and I am very excited about that because we are going to bring the boys to a family day event. How would you like to see a time lapse video recording of the construction over a period of months? It's a very cool little video but a bit slow so please have some patience while you are waiting for it to load. You can watch the video clip here.

flushing: 10-14-2008 Dear Diary: I've Got New Shea Stadium Citi Field Eye Candy - 10/14/08 12:37 PM
Shea Stadium, Flushing Meadows Park, Queens County, New York I finally made it to the hard hats after being delayed on the Grand Central Parkway due to a car accident. I only got to spend an hour with the guys and stayed well away from the moving vehicles. I'm working on a Club Chaos Eye Candy feature but am having a difficult time selecting the final photographs. I took a lot of shots and am very pleased to report that the crews have made significant progress since my last visit back in July. I am so looking forward to sharing

flushing: 10-14-2008 Dear Diary: Grand Central Drama With Lots Of Trauma - 10/14/08 11:54 AM
Grand Central Parkway, Queens County, New York On my way to hang out with the hard hats at Shea Stadium I got stuck in traffic and found myself wondering what on earth was going on. Lots of fire trucks were converging on an area ahead of me and traffic ground to a halt. By the time I rolled up on the drama it was evident that a lot of destruction had taken place. I found myself hoping that no one had died in this incident and put my camera away. I couldn't take any more pictures when I finally

flushing: Club Chaos Eye Candy: The Queens Museum, Flushing Meadow Park - 08/13/08 10:57 AM
There is a plaque at the base of the Queens Museum that is dedicated to the memories of Detectives Joseph J. Lynch and Ferdinand A. Socha of the New York City Police Department's Bomb and Forgery Squad. They were both killed in the line of duty while examining a time bomb taken from the British Pavilion of the World's Fair in Flushing Meadow Park at approximately 4:45 P.M. on July 4th 1940. This turtle run is dedicated to their memory and their families. Here is some eye candy from my run. Please keep these families in your prayers. They are in

flushing: 08-13-2008 Dear Diary - 08/13/08 10:29 AM
Dear Diary, I have a thing for the Queens Museum. Seems I can't get enough of doing a figure eight turtle run around this building. There is just too much eye candy to choose from. It is surrounded by the Court of Sates, the Sphere, the Rose Gardens, The Queens Theater... you can hit the soccer fields and tennis courts in a matter of minutes. I shall have to blog more about this in greater detail. Here is a sneak preview of some eye candy from my turtle run. Enjoy!

flushing: Localism Success Story - Club Chaos Eye Candy: Citi Field, Shea Stadium, Flushing NY - 07/31/08 12:17 AM
I love being a Work-At-Home-Mom (WHAM) and previously blogged upon that subject. What I didn't know, and could not have possibly imagined, was the fact that my WAHM blog would capture so many people's attention. Turns out it had a very nice following on my outside blogs, which directly resulted in my receiving an informal invitation to venture on-site to record the installation of the new Citi Field sign. It was installed early this morning on the stadium under construction adjacent to Shea. Both sites are in a state of transition, just like some of my close friends. The construction crews,
