I have a thing for hardwood floors. I think they make a house sexy. So do fireplaces and a number of other optional selling points. When it comes to shopping for a property to invest or dwell in, we all have that "ooo-ahh intangible features button" ingrained in our souls where if the right bit of construction eye candy comes along it will trigger that response of momentary awe when we really, really like something. I like the smell of new construction and I like the sheen of hardwood floors. :-)

I love jogging under the Triborough Bridge. You get a great water view of the residential cityscape of upper Manhattan and Harlem. They have a very well maintained track, not to mention a spanking set of tennis courts. I am plotting a new project with my girlfriends and the hubby. I decided to give you a sneak preview of the photographs to come. I'm doing some research on the area in the hopes of making the presentation useful as a hyper-local post. Citi Field and Shea Stadium have a statistical comparison chart that you can read here at the New York Mets official website. Citi Field is due to open in April of 2009 and I am very excited about that because we are going to bring the boys to a family day event. How would you like to see a time lapse video recording of the construction over a period of months? It's a very cool little video but a bit slow so please have some patience while you are waiting for it to load. You can watch the video clip here.

I finally made it to the hard hats after being delayed on the Grand Central Parkway due to a car accident. I only got to spend an hour with the guys and stayed well away from the moving vehicles. I'm working on a Club Chaos Eye Candy feature but am having a difficult time selecting the final photographs. I took a lot of shots and am very pleased to report that the crews have made significant progress since my last visit back in July.

On my way to hang out with the hard hats at Shea Stadium I got stuck in traffic and found myself wondering what on earth was going on. Lots of fire trucks were converging on an area ahead of me and traffic ground to a halt. By the time I rolled up on the drama it was evident that a lot of destruction had taken place. Located at the corner of Queens Blvd and 83 Street is the Silver Towers. There is a whole row of really cool businesses lined up beneath this wonderful residence and you can see a bit of Manhattan from the upper floors. Cocina Latina is located in the lower center of the picture where the orange sign is. They deliver and happen to be one of my favorite 35 restaurants that do. Stephen is a fixture there. You would be surprised at how much traffic you run into at midnight in Manhattan. In case you thought it was just a song, I'm here to set the record straight and tell you the that fact of the matter is New York City never sleeps. People are hopping off and on buses, going in and out of train stations, partying on the ferry boats, jogging across bridges and eating out all day and all night...

Queens Blvd, as a street, has been around since 1873. It's gone through several transitions through the ages, but in essence it has always been around for as long as anyone could remember. Originally a two Lane Road, it has been expanded into six Lanes and can almost take you from one end of the borough to the other. My favorite part of Queens Blvd. (besides the shopping and food, of course) is The #7 Train In The Grass by the Queens County Borough Hall.
