stephen and noah: Yes, I Know. ActiveRain's Chaos Group Butterfly Is Gone. That's Because We Have A New One... - 07/13/09 12:39 PM
ActiveRain Group Club Chaos Icon I had fun creating this bit of art. I've been working on it all morning. Seems a couple of the bay-bays wanted note cards and mugs (LOL). I hear a tee shirt may be in order. I second the motion. Hmm... Whaddaya' know... Change is good (LOL). ;-) I love the ActiveRain Group Club Chaos because that's where my virtual family resides. It's my favorite place to be when I want to visit the people living in my computer. Yesterday, I took my wee people on an eye candy hunt to the Prospect Park Zoo

Life With Wee People: Halo CyberMinions.net The Illustrated Dictionary of Chaos Page 1 & Page 2 Carolyn Tann-Starr Laraine Shape Michelle Viggiano I love to watch my son dance, especially to the song Halo. Stephen the Minion Blur loves Beyonce and a host of really cool artists like Amy Grant, Darlene Zschech, Ella Fitzgerald and Lady Ga Ga. Dude jumps in the bed to the Black Eyed Peas and will float around the house if I put on Yo Yo Ma. From classical to head banging, my guy pie boogies to them all. Right now "Pump It" is playing

stephen and noah: PDD-NOS strikes again: Stephen the Minion Blur drowned my Sprint Rant in the toilet... - 07/03/09 11:35 PM
Stephen the Minion Blur in one of his infamous PDD-NOS moments drowned my Sprint Rant in the family toilet. Look at him. Napping all innocent with Mike and Noah as if the death of my electronics never crossed his tiny little PDD-NOS mind. I have said it before and I will say it again. They may look innocent but don't let 'em fool you. Living with Autism and PDD-NOS is a trip (LOL). I can't believe I don't have a friggin' cell phone again... That really whomps because I live on my cell phone. My mind just short circuited with

stephen and noah: Outside Blog Minion Report: B D & L, Sesame Street, David Pogue and Communal Book Writing - 06/04/09 10:15 PM
The World According To Twitter Sesame Street BookExpo America Carolyn Tann-Starr on David Pogue BookExpo America 2009 introduced me to several new concepts regarding "book blogging." There was a very interesting forum going on where the publishing houses were very interested in bloggers doing reviews and linking back to works so that their readers could discover what new titles were coming out. I think if I ever had to hire help to do this the best ActiveRain group for the job would be Realtors and Friends Who Read. I knew RAFWR did this because they love sharing their reading lists but

stephen and noah: Interesting Kindle Topic - 05/19/09 08:53 AM
http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=4349&tag=nl.e550 This quote got me thinking about my ADA clients and my learning disabled kids: "We know that there exists a kill-switch for the text-to-speech feature that allows publishers to disable the feature for specific titles. While this feature protects the publisher’s ability to control how content is distributed, it sucks for people who really wanted this feature. If there’s one kill-switch, it’s likely that Amazon, and publishers, have other kill-switches at their disposal. Personally, I’d be uncomfortable with so many players having the ability to remotely tinker with my Kindle." I was actually considering getting one for the boys to

stephen and noah: Sleep? Who needs sleep? We don't need no stinkin' sleep... We're Social Media Realtors - 04/18/09 09:39 AM
The fun thing about the Internet is that it crosses every time zone. On a good day, if you pace yourself just right, it may appear that you seem to be everywhere at once. Did I mention I work in 20 minute intervals? I do you know. That works for me. I have very self directed little people, so I have to stay on my toes and trade places with the hubby chasing the wee ones around a very small apartment. They can do a lot of damage in a small space (LOL). Can't take your eyes off of them for

stephen and noah: Club Chaos Eye Candy: Little Minion TV (LMTV-11) Spring Fresh Tour - 04/14/09 10:11 PM
VideoAd by Mixpo The fun thing about taking your kids to work with you is they have a way of bringing a new perspective to what might otherwise be a routine day. My little Realtors-in-training are both coping with learning disabilities so I try to include them in as many life activities as possible to give them real world perspective. I guess all kids can do strange things. Remember the Blur Minion's attempt at toasting our cell phones? Boys being boys, Hubby has been hooking them up with some interesting Manly-man projects to keep them busy. Now it seems that my

stephen and noah: 3 Minutes With Stephen The Minion Blur - 03/03/09 12:14 AM
All it takes is three minutes with Stephen the Minion Blur to realize that kid has a one track mind (LOL). He's fascinated with snow and his Mama is a snow bunny. My original intention was to take a photograph of the boys to send to my Mother-in-Law, but he was playing so nice I found myself thinking Grandma would probably enjoy hearing a little babel from my little-guy-pie, so I opened the window to give us something to talk about. Snow (LOL).

stephen and noah: Well... this is new... - 02/17/09 10:13 PM
I'm a bit distracted today because my clients are such interesting and downright fascinating people. I've never had a buyer sign a contract with a mortgage in place, then kick the mortgage to the curb to get a new one weeks before closing. Makes me nervous... I'm sure I'll get over it. I tend to get over a lot of things especially if I have no choice in the matter (LOL). I think if I could improve my interest rate I might gamble and go for it too... but what do I know... after all, this is new... I've no idea

stephen and noah: The Little Minions Love New York (and select their fave 2008 pictures) - 02/11/09 04:00 PM
VideoAd by Mixpo The interesting thing about letting the little minions run a-muck in the Photoshop files is that I never know which folder they are going to select or which picture is going to capture their attention. I let my 2 and 7 year old take turns selecting files and photographs and I have to say I am very surprised Sponge-bob and Elmo did not make the cut (LOL). This is what happens when you convince your kids they are Mini-Realtors in training... The wordless year in review by Stephen the Minion Blur and Mr. Noah.

stephen and noah: My Kids Fascinate Me... - 02/07/09 07:20 AM
They really, really do. No matter how "creative" or "bad" they get I can't help admiring their tenacity to get what they want. Is it a Mommy thing? Blogger thing? I live with a bunch of crazy people who make my life as the head crazy person really interesting thing? I dunno... All I know is that I love them dearly and when they actually use words to ask for stuff I get very excited because it can be really frustrating dealing with two learning disabled kids. BTW, both are speech delayed and Stephen is learning sign language (translated: I'm learning

stephen and noah: The Quaker Man Charity Challenge... Help The Little Minions Fight Hunger - 02/03/09 10:54 PM
I thought this was an interesting thing to do for charity. I volunteered to participate in a 25 BLOGGERS/25 DAYS contest that is part of the Start With Substance program. The goal is to get readers to join the Start With Substance campaign by becoming a Facebook Fan of the Quaker Facebook page. Readers have to post their Quaker Man pictures there by 9AM 2/4/2009 for the little minions to compete to receive a $5000 donation to a hunger charity of their choice. Consider this your breakfast task of the morning, people (LOL). I need your links before 9AM.

stephen and noah: Toasted, Tossed and Toileted... I Need A Minion Proof Cell Phone. Seriously... - 01/22/09 10:11 PM
My kids are a trip. Noah is turning seven in a few days. The older he gets the more he regresses. Stephen's a bad influence on him. It appears that Applied Behavior Analysis works both ways... Who knew a precocious two tear old could cause so much havoc? Step is going to be three in a few months. Seriously. I wonder what that will be like. Little dude thinks throwing my cell phone out the window is a toddler sport. Bad enough my calculators are taking baths in the toilet but now the sound of miniature LCD television

stephen and noah: Snow Minions - 12/19/08 06:56 PM
VideoAd by Mixpo The Little Minions got to play in the snow today. I also took them on two tours of homes because I am working on two Comparative Market Analysis; one for Flushing and the other for Jamaica, NY. We had a blast building snowmen and having snowball fights. Stephen got to pretend-drive his fave wooden car and Noah demolished his snowman creation with some of the kids in the backyard of our apartment building. We stopped by our new construction to make sure the pipes were okay because at one point the temperature fell down to 32 degrees. I

stephen and noah: Christmas Lights and Midtown Minions - 11/30/08 08:14 PM
Susan Mangigian was right: Play dough and microwave should "never, ever, ever be used in the same sentence" (LOL). I've been joking in Twitter about this and I must say when it comes to ironic humor Ruthmarie Hicks has got me and my little people down pat. She has come up with a brilliant blog post idea and I can't wait to present it. Now if I can only stop laughing long enough to write it. ;-) I am going to dedicate this post to my girlfriend Poppy Dinsey who has been a bit quiet in Active Rain lately. It appears

Cameron Wilson, Elizabeth Weintraub, Richard Weisser, Lizette Fitzpatrick, Poppy Dinsey, Melody Botting and Susan Mangigian have a very interesting collective sense of humor. I love reading their blog posts and enjoy bantering with them across the Blogosphere. They are part of the Active Rain group Club Chaos which was co-founded by three Realtors: Amanda Hall, Melody Botting and Carolyn Tann-Starr. Membership is by invitation only because the members nominate and sponsor other members. We want to grow at a slow, careful pace because our personal relationships matter to us. There is a lot more to us than just a bunch

stephen and noah: When Your Toaster Starts Ringing You Know You Are In Trouble... - 11/23/08 07:06 PM
In case you haven't done the Wiki, now may be a very good time for me to introduce you to the various levels of Minions. Although there are more, I am going to quote my favorite three British points of order using the Queen's English. Are you ready? I Quote: Minion is a term for favorites or protégés, especially those of a monarch or prince at a royal court. Unlike a henchman or lackey, although of subordinate rank to his patron, a minion is likely to be of noble birth or to be raised to the nobility, and

stephen and noah: What I Love Most About My Little Mini-Realtors In Training - 11/22/08 12:12 PM
Stephen I. Starr at EIP pre-school Got some very interesting e-mail from my AR and Twitter peeps. Rather than answer you each individually, I've decided to write a blog post to give you all some insight into what my life is like as a Realtor battling with my kids learning disabilities. So go get comfy 'cause this is gonna' be a looooong post (LOL). Got a question? You can comment, e-mail, or tweet me (@CTannStarr). No one really knows what anyone else is going through. We look at the surface and make assumptions because we process information based upon what

stephen and noah: Video: Stephen Dancing To Autumn Run (New Music by Mommy and the Little Minions) - 11/08/08 06:35 PM
VideoAd by Mixpo Stephen and Noah went on an Autumn run to collect leaves for Jeannette Neerpat. The Minion Blur managed to stomp his way through every puddle he could find. Had to race home to clean him up so we could pick up a client and host an Open House. Wrote the bugger a little theme song to go with the photographs I took while we were playing in the rain. Turns out the little dude thought it was worthy of another table dance in his PJs. Here's his version of a minion two thumbs up. I couldn't resist slipping

stephen and noah: A Perception of Value... - 11/06/08 08:43 AM
You virtually hear a lot of Internet chatter about "smart design." Design influences a person's perception of value. Some people think posting an experimental page in the public forum (a) serves no purpose, (b) has no value and (c) is unprofessional, but I believe otherwise. I'm experimenting with cells, illustrations, animation, photography and video because I'd like to improve my blog post experience for the consumer, surfers and my industry peers. Content is king, and quality content will rule the blogosphere. Asking for feedback and help does not make me a bad blogger. Joking about my mangling computer programming code is
