The Art of Living - 08/29/12 09:34 AM
What can one say, other than that Lou breaks it down like no other. We can blame the universe if we want to, but before you do take a look in the mirror...it's your choice, you choose.

Introducing Cheryl Thomson, REALTOR®, U.S. Army (Retired), Prince William County, VA - 08/29/12 07:34 AM
Introducing Cheryl Thomson, REALTOR®, U.S. Army (Retired), Prince William County, VA After graduating high school I joined the Army immediately after. Spent most of my tenure overseas.  So much to see, I was fascinated by many different cultures and wanted more. Before I knew it I was submitting my paperwork for retirement in 2002. After proudly serving my country for 20 years I needed to refocus and begin a new life.  After becoming a government contractor for 5 years I soon realized being an employee was no longer a desire and needed to do what excited me. I wanted to become … (5 comments)

I Lost the Listing But Earned a Client - 08/19/12 02:59 PM
Debbie gives you a perfect example of how successful your reputation can become in real estate as long as your professional no matter the outcome.
Via Debbie Reynolds, "The Real Debbie Reynolds" (Prudential PenFed Realty):
I Lost the Listing But Earned a Client. It isn’t often that you lose a listing and come out way ahead. Years ago when I was working FSBO’s, I gave a very good listing presentation to some sellers. They called me back and told me that they were giving the listing to a “friend in real estate” and hoped I understood. The seller went on to praise … (6 comments)

Unrealistic sellers seem to be more of the rule than the exception - 08/13/12 07:43 AM
Unrealistic sellers seem to be more of the rule than the exception.
I don't know how many blogs have been written
about this, how many times REALTORs® talk about it, however, it seems to not reach the ears of many sellers. What you paid and put into your home yesterday IS NOT what the MARKET dictates TODAY...period.
A buyer will ONLY pay for a home what they believe it is worth.  There is no fancy formula or takes a rocket scientist to figure it out.  Neighboring comparables will be used.  Whether the home down the street is a short sale, … (57 comments)

When A Ditch Becomes A Canyon, Or Just Another Day of Real Estate Negotiations - 08/08/12 04:28 PM
I'm a strong believer that if you want something to work it will and you will do anything humanly possible.  Negotiations in real estate can work relatively easy IF YOU WANT IT TO.  Sometimes thinking outside of the box is needed.  Liz and Bill were very creative enough to share their thoughts.
