Because of economic pressures, the University System of Georgia has lost a bilion dollars in state funding over the last four years. They have since decided to blend eight universities into four. One of those 4 universities is the blended campus of North Georgia College and State University and Gainesville State College that will serve Forsyth County and surrounding communities in Cumming. It will be located next door to the Cumming Aquatic Center, off Pilgrim Mill Road. The new facility, called "University Center Ga. 400 facility" is expected to be completed in July, 2012 and begin to hold classes in fall
